It’s been a rocky ride for Namco’s Katamari games ever since Keita Takahashi left the Japanese publisher. The odd, left-field whimsy that the game designer imbued 2004′s Katamari Damacy with dwindled with each sequel. Keita Takahashi’s Noby Noby Boy was weird. The 2009 PS3 release from the creator of Katamari Damacy involved an elastic quadruped character that players could floppily stretch along the game’s environment. All the elongation of the game’s players gets aggregated to help Girl, Boy’s counterpart go further into Noby Noby Boy‘s simulated-to-scale virtual universe. More »

Katamari Damacy is just a working title, but frankly it’s as good as any for the version of the game soon to arrive on PlayStation Vita. Namco Bandai announced today that the venerable roll-em-up will get a Vita release on an unspecified date, and will take advantage of the new handheld’s touch-pad controls. More »
