Nexon Launches Combat Arms

Posted by Mike Fahey at 4:00 AM on July 11, 2008

Remember the uproar that was stirred when folks thought that EA's Battlefield: Bad Company would have weapons only available for purchase? For the few of you who actually liked the idea, Nexon presents Combat Arms, their first multiplayer online FPS. Along with a hearty selection of free weapons, Nexon allows players to purchase new weapons adn equipment from their online store, tricking out their character to their hearts' and wallets' content.

You can head over to the official website to download the game for free and check out the tons of new content Nexon has added in honour of today's official launch, including new weapons, a new map, and the addition of a new game mode, Capture the Flag. Wait, they've only just added Capture the Flag? This should be entertaining.

Metal Gear Solid 4: The San Francisco Launch

Posted by Flynn De Marco at 7:00 PM on June 12, 2008

Just a scant hour ago I made the trek down to the Powell Street GameStop to take in the midnight launch of Metal Gear Solid 4. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a line that went halfway down the block and around the corner. Roughly seventy five to a hundred and people waited patiently for the doors to open so they could once again get their hands on their beloved Solid Snake. First in line was lucky Kiattikhun Ratanatharathorn, known as "Bank" to his friends (pictured after the jump) who had been waiting for his prize since 6pm. He was accompanied by his friend James Demonico who wasn't actually there for the game but he owed "Bank" money so he came along for the ride (now I guess we know why they call him "Bank").

The Simpsons Game Launch Party

Posted by Michael McWhertor at 6:20 AM on October 30, 2007

hazel_simpsons.jpgIt may not feature fabulously/obscenely chesty model Keeley Hazel, as the London launch event did, but tomorrow night, southern Californians will be treated to a kick-off party for EA's The Simpsons Game at Universal CityWalk and Hard Rock Café. No, Ms. Hazel's gargantuan rack won't be in attendance, but The Simpsons creator Matt Groening's respectable man-teats will be. He'll also be joined by unnamed writers from the television show and mysterious Fox celebrities.

The whole thing kicks off tomorrow night at 8 PM, with a "surprise unveiling" at 9:15 (again, no Keeley). The usual snacks, drinks, giveaways and general fun will be dished out by the folks from EA and Fox, so make sure you show up on time. To pass the time between now and tomorrow night's early access to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game, we certainly don't suggest at-work Google Image Searches for the above Briton. It's not worth throwing your career away for.
