World Of Warcraft Forums member Maeglin made a surprising discovery when poking about in the depths of the latest WoW patch. Hidden away in the directory tree was a copy of the Wrath of the Lich King manual.
All those high-profile games leaks – just how do they happen? Well, here is one way…
Although I probably should leave anything in Japanese to Bash, pictures speak any language, and there are nearly 150 of them of Fallout 3 that have hit the Internet following the Zenimax Asia expo (Zenimax owns Fallout developer Bethesda.) Tipster Brother None, the forum admin over at No Mutants Allowed, writes: “Apparently the people viewing Fallout 3 in the ZeniMax Asia showing in Taiwan did not take their NDAs very seriously”. Apparently so. We have a gallery of 28 screenies on the jump, with a link to the entire set.
An early beta version of Microsoft’s Fall Xbox Experience dashboard update for the 360 has made its way onto the internet via the usual file sharing sites, and modders and hackers have been working overtime to get the thing up and running on their consoles. xHaVoK87 has been constantly updating readers on his progress in getting the dash functional on his box, and as of his most recent update it looks like he’s been successful. Congratulations! You now have a buggy beta version of the Fall dash update, complete with font errors, missing graphics, and none of the actual features that are supposed to be coming to revolutionise the Xbox Live Experience. In essence, your hacked Xbox now looks different. Way to go.
Work is currently being done towards an install solution for retail Xbox 360 systems, but you know what? I’ll just wait. Hit the jump for a clip of the new dash in action, or hit the link for the full rundown of how they did it.

There are differing leaks out there regarding the track list for Rock Band 2. Both are unattributed, one to a friend of a friend who got a look at an email from Harmonix to MTV or something. But in the interest of rumourmongering, we’ll repeat both with the caveat that there is no way of knowing if this stuff is for real or not. But if, combined, they’re half right then this could be one hell of a track list, possibly the best of any rhythm game.
Also, an IGN Insider interview (transcript provided by reader Max) let slip that buyers of Rock Band 2 will have access to all of the songs off the original Rock Band disc, available as free DLC. Full details on both after the jump.
48 hours? You’re not giving yourselves enough credit. Less than a day after the PAL copy of the game was leaked, NTSC copies of Grand Theft Auto IV have begun popping up on torrent sites, courtesy of a group calling themselves 101. We’re still unable to verify whether this is the real thing or not, but regardless, the files are already pushing 20,000 leechers. Shame. We’re still waiting on Rockstar for comment.
Unsurprisingly, Capcom was less than ecstatic to see ancient, internal art files for the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network release Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix make their way online. But they’ve turned leaky lemons into lemonade, giving readers of the official Capcom blogs and Street Fighter followers a look at what’s a work in progress and what’s expected to change. In short? Just about everything.
The Capcom crew have converted a handful of the old art files into illustrative animated GIFs, showing some of the challenges the team at Udon face when upgrading to high definition frames. They also drive home the point with big bold letters that much of the stuff is old, work-in-progress and will be re-drawn. They’re even nice enough to provide the leaked art file, saving you the trouble of going elsewhere. Lovely.

Back in September, an early PS2 Manhunt 2 build was leaked online. The question was “who?” Details were scant, but GamePolitics reports that the leak came from a Sony Computer Entertainment Europe employee. According to Manhunt 2 publisher Take-Two:
Take-Two Interactive has confirmed that a former employee of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has acknowledged his responsibility for the unauthorized online distribution of an unrated play-test version of Manhunt 2 submitted for the European PAL PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system.
Leaking the clip led to that employee’s termination. Swing by GamePolitics and get the lowdown. Manhunt 2 Leak [GamePolitics]
Projectmanhunt.com is reporting that an early PS2 build of Manhunt 2 has leaked online. Though credited to Rockstar-unaffiliated Team Slonik, the software had to come from somewhere and YouTube clips are already appearing for public consumption—meaning this could become a quite literal torrent of bad press for Rockstar…who was finally (kinda) out of the fire for Hot Coffee.

Something so evil. . .cannot be contained. If I were Climax CEO Karl Jeffery that is exactly how I would have responded to news that the demo for upcoming PSP title Silent Hill Origins began appearing on torrent sites this past Sunday, days before the game was due to be shown at Leipzig. Instead he reacted to the news that thousands of people were downloading the code to game with a much less interesting but probably much more effective CYA statement. “All I can say is that code did not leak from Climax – 100 per cent guaranteed,” said Jeffery.
“The code that is out there is fingerprinted and was supplied solely to Konami for marketing purposes.”
So the build being swiped from torrent sites all over the world was in Konami’s hands? It’s coming from inside the house!
