Unfortunately, UpKnitCreek’s not making this available for general sale, as most are homespun game/geek items like this that we usually post. But look at the craftsmanship – and the fact it’s accompanied by a Triforce baby blanket, to be packaged up and delivered in a wooden treasure chest. Whichever newborn gets this, he or she is the luckiest baby of 2009. Or ever.

And to prove he’s not kidding around, the series creator brought in a piece of concept art for the game, showing an oldish Link (late teen/early adult) and a woman in a blue dress (presumably Zelda).

He also mentions that he’d love the game to feature Wii MotionPlus for things like swordplay and archery.

So, anyone disappointed by a lack of Wii Zelda in 2009, 2010 might be a little rosier.

Despite it seeming like Buyout Day, I hereby declare it Nintendo Fashion Day on the count of several eBay listings, the most amazing manicure ever and yet another game in Ubisoft’s Imagine series.

First up are the eBay listings. According to GoNintendo, you can find several fashionable items for auction — including a Mario and Sonic athletic jacket and a spiffy Nintendo Power Team windbreaker. If that’s not posh enough for you, French fashion label Lanvin is featuring a green frock that may or may not having anything to do with the Pac-Man ghosts behind her.

Once you’ve decked yourself out in Nintendo-themed threads, you can head on over to where this chick gets her nails done and have yourself a Zelda manicure.

And if that isn’t enough to fool you into thinking yourself a fashion aficionado, there’s always Imagine Fashion Party for the Wii. It’s your wildest slumber party dreams come true.

Speaking with Nintendo Power magazine, Aonuma said:

I’m happy that a title I worked on some time ago remains highly praised to this day, but that also shows how none of the subsequent games in the series have surpassed it. As someone who is still working on the series, I have mixed feelings about that. Because I haven’t yet surpassed it, I can’t quit. Surprisingly, that simply motivation may be the reason I continue to work on the Zelda series.

Don’t get so down on yourself, Eiji! You know…and I fully understand the ramifications of saying this…I thought Wind Waker was better than Ocarina. Yes. Really. That oughta cheer you up!
