Lucasarts Closing Down Could Be A Good Thing (From A Certain Point Of View)

For the 150 former employees now out of a job, the decision by Disney to close Lucasarts is a sad and terrible one. I wish them all the best in their efforts to find a new employer.

For a long time a certain subset of fans have been asking Raven to release the source code for the single player component of Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy, two Star Wars games Raven Software developed for Lucasarts. But Raven never sent the code into the wild. Until now.

The Strange Status Of Star Wars: 1313, A Hot Game With An Uncertain Future

It’s not unusual for a newly-revealed video game to disappear for eight months. It’s not weird to be amazed by a game and then neither see nor hear anything about it for a while.
