Master Chief Wax Figure Exposed

When I posted the story about the unveiling of the Master Chief wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas yesterday, we had yet to get our hands on any actual photos of the big guy all completed. Well, you asked for it, you got it. Here he is in all his waxy glory accompanied by unveiler, Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy. If you ask me, Pete seems a little too happy to be handling Master Chief’s big ole’ gun although I have to say it’s a toss up on which one of them looks more fake. I’m going with Wentz.

Madame Tussauds Officially Unveils Master Chief Figure

It seems we finally have the full story on the Master Chief wax figure that was revealed today in an event at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas. The official post-unveiling press release states that the figure was introduced by Fall Out Boy’s Pete “I’ll kiss anybody” Wentz in a ceremony held this afternoon. Pete had a somewhat wooden, obviously PR department written speech for the occasion: For me, the launch of Halo 3 will be the entertainment event of the year. It will be as big as or bigger than any of the summer’s movie blockbusters,” said Wentz. “Master Chief is as much of a hero today as characters like Spiderman, Frodo and Luke Skywalker were for previous generations.

Pete Wentz? Really? I’ll just move past that bizarre choice in celebrity and move on to the additional announcement that Madame Tussauds will also be carrying a whole “array of Halo licensed products” that museum visitors can purchase. Somehow, I think that will surprise absolutely no one.

Unfortunately, the press release oddly did not include any photos of the finished piece so you’ll have to make do with this old one. Full press release available for consumption after the jump.

Madame Tussauds’ Master Chief Invades Las Vegas

Someone just snuck me the official press release for Madame Tussauds’ Master Chief unveiling. Actually the press release doesn’t mention the big MC, just that it will be the first video game character to be immortalised in the 250-year-old attraction and that guests will include representatives from Xbox 360. It helps that GameTag Radio was tipped off with a picture of the Master Chief in production earlier this week.

The press release goes on to say that the media and guests will have a chance to see the 7-foot-2 figure up close and have their photo taken with him. There will be some unnamed celebrity guest on hand too. I’ll look into getting pictures from the Saturday event, and maybe even an interview, once it happens.

Halo Invades Madame Tussauds

Godfry sends word that the Madame Tussauds in London is working on a, perhaps, larger-than-life-sized wax replica of the Master Chief in their studios. A reader of Gamer Tag Radio sent him a blurry shot of the still-in-progress MC.
