For the sixth time in seven years – and the first time picking an underdog – EA Sports’ Madden Simulation has correctly predicted the Super Bowl winner. But it’s not as simple, or as complicated, as one might think.
A Doritos/EA Sports promo is giving fans the vote on who makes this year’s Madden cover. The candidates are Minnesota defensive end Jared Allen, New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees, and Indianapolis wide receiver Reggie Wayne.
The so-called Madden Curse, which doesn’t involve witch doctors as much as it does wacky concepts like “regression to the mean” and “injuries in a full-contact sport,” claimed one of this year’s two cover boys in week one.
Madden NFL 10 co-cover athlete Troy Polamalu did just fine in the season opener between the Titans and the Steelers last night, until an injury put him out of commission for three to six weeks.
