EA’s “Project Ten Dollar” initiative marches on in Battlefield: Bad Company 2, with four multiplayer maps included on the disc, unlocked via VIP codes found only in new copies of the game.
And that’s in its first weekend of availability. Activision announced yesterday that Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 3 registered more than one million paid downloads through Xbox Live and PSN from August 6 to August 9.
Revealed at Microsoft’s 2009 E3 press conference, the first two downloadable map packs for Inifinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 will be timed Xbox 360 exclusives.
PC Call of Duty 4 gamers can download four maps free in an NVIDIA-sponsored Variety Map Pack due to drop Thursday.
The four maps for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare are the Broadcast, Chinatown, Killhouse and Creek maps. Furthermore, PC players will get a patch that fixes a server crash, fixes some other bugs, adds in some things and, oh yeah, enables support for the new maps.
So, PC gamers, don’t say nobody never did nuthin’ for ya. Xbox 360 owners had to buy this. Enjoy!
