I’ve gotten official confirmation from Nintendo that the Wii Zapper interface will indeed come with Link’s Crossbow Training packed in and that the remote-housing Wii Zapper will sell for $20 starting Nov. 19. Link’s Crossbow Training drops players into a world in the style of The Legend of Zelda®: Twilight Princess. Players assume the identity of hero Link, who progresses through a series of tests to perfect his crossbow marksmanship. Start with stationary bull’s-eyes and graduate to moving targets before defending Link against all kinds of enemies.
Nintendo also confirms a pretty interesting line-up of third-party Wii Zapper support including Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Ghost Squad and Medal of Honor Heroes 2 which will include single player, arcade mode and support for up to 32 players in multiplayer.
With all the travelling I’ve been doing lately it’s been hard for me to play any new games and probably won’t get much of a chance for a few more weeks. Some good titles coming out this week though and I’m sure you’ll be able to find something on this list that strikes your fancy. Personally I’m rather intrigued by the Sherlock Holmes title which has been getting decent reviews. Sherlock Holmes and the Cthulu mythos? Sounds like a winner to me.
Stranglehold (X360, PC) All the fun of a John Woo film on your 360!
Medal of Honour: Airborne (PC, X360) It’s WWII as seen from above.
The Sims 2: Bon Voyage (PC) Send your little Sims on a dream vacation.
Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles 2 (PS2) The Naruto machine keeps on pumping.
I’m intrigued with the concept for Medal of Honour Airborne, the idea that you can drop into a map anywhere when you start. While this is a neat concept for single player, I’m wasn’t so sure how it would make multiplayer feel any different than any multiplayer shooter with multiple spawn points. Watching the ground troops shooting the “spawned” airborne out of the sky sorta helped me figure that out.
