Keiji Inafune split from Capcom about a year ago, clearly burned out — at one point he said he “hated” his job. However, he still was committed to finishing the 3DS game Mega Man Legends 3, whose cancellation set off a firestorm of anger this summer. Inafune threw more gasoline on the blaze when he suggested that Capcom turned down his offer to finish the game under contract.
Another character enters the fray of Japanese arcade title Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. And it’s a whopper! The newest fighter is Rock Volnutt (AKA Mega-Man Volnutt) from Mega-Man Legends game. He’ll of course be joining the Capcom side, which currently has a roster that boasts: Ryu, Chun-Li, Morrigan and Alex from Street Fighter III among others. Hit the jump for a look at latest reveal.
If you folks are anything like me, reading the headline to this post was like feeling a nice, satisfying sneeze coming on and then having it fade away at the last minute. Capcom is taking some of their top franchises mobile, including my beloved Mega Man Legends series which returns as RockMan Dash: The Great Five Islands Adventure. Also slated for handsets is Resident Evil 4 Mobile Edition, Devil May Cry: Dante X Virgil, Sengoku Basara (Devil Kings) Tactical RPG, and Breath of Fire 4 Action RPG Edition. Looking at some of the screens shown on the GAMEWatch site, it might be time to pick out a gaming phone to tide us over until we get a new MegaMan Legends on consoles.
