At an earlier Microsoft press event, SNK announced a bunch of Xbox LIVE titles that include Garou: Mark of the Wolves and The King of Fighters: Sky Stage. Noticeably absent was Metal Slug 7. More »
When SNK Playmore finds a formula, it tends to stick to it (see King of Fighters XII, Metal Slug 7). The developer’s latest entry in the Metal Slug series doesn’t stray far from the path.
We can’t wait to get our hands on Metal Slug 7. The game has been out in Japan since July, but the rest of us will have to wait a little longer. Until then this new trailer should keep you guys busy while giving you one final tease before release.
Metal Slug is hailed as being one of the best side scroller series ever created. However, you might find it hard playing the 7th installment on an Atomiswave or Neo-Geo cabinet, it’s coming to your DS this November. Featuring 7 new missions and loads of slugs at your disposal, Metal Slug 7 is looking utterly bad arse.
Oh yes, we’ve known about the existence of Metal Slug 7 for some time now, but today, Ignition and SNK Playmore make an honest game of the Nintendo DS title. You know the drill with this Metal Slug stuff. Walk right, occasionally left, you might possibly move vertically, and while you do, shoot everything. It should be on store shelves some time this fall.
This was in the press release and attributed to the President of Ignition Entertainment Ajay Chadha: “Truth be told, I have a pink DS and was embarrassed to play it in public. Now with Metal Slug 7 loaded, I have no qualms”. Excellent.
I got a chance to swing by the SNK Playmore Suite at GDC to check out some of their offerings. Most of what they had going on on their screens were showings of their various game anthologies including Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol. 2, King of Fighters 98 Ultimate Match, King of Fighters Collection Orochi Saga, Samurai Shodown Anthology, SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 and World Heroes Anthology. Not a whole lot new here but there were a couple of nice looking trailers for King of Fighters XII and the New Samurai Shodown.
Only announced a few days ago, Metal Slug 7 is tucked away in a quiet corner of SNK’s booth. Which is tucked away in a quiet corner of TGS. Which is a pity. Because it’s everything you’d expect of Metal Slug on the DS. As in, it’s great. Same old Metal Slug, same old controls, except now the bottom screen is devoted to a “map” of the current level, which is revealed as you progress. Can’t think of why exactly it does that, but I guess it looks nice, and I they had to put something down there. More »
Anyone for more Metal Slug? Course you are. You’re gagging for it. Latest issue of Famitsu has the news that the seventh installment of SNK’s immortal franchise is heading to the DS, and the DS only. Guess it guarantees a decent control scheme. Oh, and maximum profits. Metal Slug 7 annoncé [Jeux France] More »
