While this has nothing to do with a larger hard drive, Sony will be offering a new bundle in Australia that includes a 40GB PS3, second Sixaxis controller and one of the following games: Heavenly Sword, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction or NBA 08 all for $799.95. Wow, that’s looking a LOT better than the original $1000 PS3 launch price that Luke had to put up with. New PlayStation 3 bundle confirmed by Sony [PALGN]
Today being Thursday in the United States, Sony have gone ahead and updated your PlayStation Store. With what, I hear you ask with a half-hearted sense of idle curiosity? Buncha stuff. You’ve got demos for The Simpsons and Bladestorm, trailers for Uncharted, Haze, Tekkonkinkreet and Surf’s Up, a couple of tutorials for NBA 08 and Eye Of Judgement and…a game! A real game. Go! Sports Ski, which is only $US 3 and lets you ski with the SixAxis. That’s at least one or two good times right there. PlayStation Store Update [PlayStation.Blog]
With EA’s 2008 offering already available in demo form on Xbox Live, the NBA 2K8 demo added early this morning should be extremely useful in helping gamers determine which basketball title to pick up this year. Commentors over at Larry’s website are already weighing in on the 2K Sports offering, and the general verdict is excellent gameplay, crappy presentation. Having played through the Live 08 demo, I can see how EA’s game would be a hard act to follow graphically. Releasing a 325MB demo without announcers or music might just cost 2K in the end. With both games due out October 1st, now’s a good time to make your choice.
