Gears Of War 2 Figures Grant Your Chainsaw Diorama Wishes

4:00PM Luke Plunkett | While NECA’s first lines of Gears of War figures lagged badly behind the release of the original game, their third line – featuring Gears of War 2 characters – is a little more punctual. More »

Street Fighter IV Figures Are Ugly, Yet Poseable

1:30PM Luke Plunkett | Street Fighter IV’s unique graphical style looks pretty good when you see it on a screen. Different, yes, and it’s taken a little while to get used to, but when you see it moving, it looks pretty great. These Street Fighter IV figures from NECA, though…show that maybe the character’s plastic representations shouldn’t have been made so literal. Especially since Ken looks a little slow, and Ryu looks like a monkey taking a crap. Pics are at the link below (don’t worry, there’ll be plenty more than just the three so far spotted). More »

New Gears Of War 2 Action Figures

7:30AM Kotaku US Edition | The National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA) continue their almost single handed quest to collect all the dust in the northern hemisphere with their range of shelf-filling collectibles. Next up is a set of Gears of War 2 dolls action figures we first saw some advance shots of in June. There is a new Marcus Fenix figurine, an even ‘orribler looking Locust Theron Guard and two more of Marcus’ chums from Delta Squad. As usual, the models are absurdly detailed, not that the people who will buy them will ever take them out of the packaging to find this out. Honestly, NECA could really save on manufacturing costs by only modelling the front bits. The savings on plastic alone could treble their 3rd quarter operating costs. NECA Pimps Gaming Toy Line Up At Comic-Con

3:08AM Michael McWhertor | Toy make NECA gets a sizable slice of the Comic-Con show floor and it draws a huge crowd. We’ve seen a constant line at the company’s booth as Comic-Conners queue up to grab those show exclusives. NECA’s product line is heavy with video game licenses, with Gears of War, Prototype, God of War, Tomb Raider, Rayman’s Raving Rabbids, Bionic Commando and others representing in plastic, poseable form. Bionic Commando Action Figure Spotted

11:20PM Luke Plunkett | Spotted at the 2008 Licensing show held in New York a couple weeks back, this is a prototype of NECA’s Nathan Spencer action figure, due in spring. Looks even more detailed than their Gears figures, which is saying something. No official details on it yet, but you can pass the time between now and the time you find out how much it costs by admiring the craftsmanship on those hot dogs wonderfully redesigned hydraulic arm cables.
