At one time, director Neill Blomkamp was just the guy who was going to helm the now-on-ice Halo Hollywood flick. That movie never happened. Sci-fi hit District 9 did, and Blompkamp’s career took off.
In 2006, it was announced that a then 26-year-old South African filmmaker named Neill Blomkamp would be directing a feature film version of Halo produced by Peter Jackson.
District 9 may be about aliens and their technology, it may be directed by Neill Blomkamp and produced by Peter Jackson, but it’s no Halo.
