From NIS America and original developer Nicalis comes Cave Story 3D, a game that graphically overhauls a title that really needed no graphical overhaul. How’d that work out? Let’s take a quick look.
Nicalis’ enhanced WiiWare port of PC adventure game Cave Story is finally coming to Nintendo’s downloadable game service and we’ve got the release date to prove it.
Here’s a gameplay trailer for “Night Game” a WiiWare title that looks to be one of 2009′s it-games in the indie community.
Cave Story Wii isn’t the same Cave Story you already know and already love. For starters, it’s getting a graphical facelift, character art and all. But that’s not all; it’s also getting downloadable content.
Well, here it is moving. Looks wonderful. Excuse the sound though, it’s a work-in-progress.
In case you missed it, Cave Story is coming to the Wii. As a WiiWare title. If you don’t have a PC and don’t mind paying for a free PC game, there is no question, you should get this game. But just in case there are any questions, know that the Wii version isn’t a straight-up port. It’s having its graphics tarted up. Like a HD remix, except, not really in HD. Above is King. On the left, King from the PC version. On the right, King from the Wii version. After the jump, same thing, except for Toroko. Looks great, a lot more like the character art from the cutscenes, but I’m sure some people will still find some reason to complain about this graphical treason.
