You’ll never look at interstellar soldiers the same way again after watching this video by the MAKE design studio. The creators there made the clip pro bono — producing work which looks like it took weeks, if not months, to finish — to drum up support for the Child’s Play charity started eight years ago by Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins, creators of mega-successful webcomic Penny Arcade.
If you’re itching to get your single-day or three-day passes for the 2012 Eastern Time branch of Penny Arcade’s fanfest, then head over to the registration page. Next year will be the third year for PAX East, which is scheduled for the weekend of April 6th-8th.
Getting into Penny Arcade Expo’s flagship show in Seattle, on Labor Day weekend, is notoriously difficult if you trek up there without a pass. The three-day variety for PAX 2011 is now officially sold out, according to the expo’s official Twitter feed. They’ve been processing some refunds, freeing up stock incrementally, so there’s an off-chance passes still are available. But if you waited until now to get your money down, you’re probably SOL. Populr webcomic Penny Arcade, which already holds two gamer-focused shows throughout the year, is about to kick off a third: PAX Dev, which is an industry-only event “where digital and pen/paper game developers alike can focus on their craft”.
