This is possibly the bloodiest game I’ve ever seen. Certainly the bloodiest Australian-made game I’ve seen. More »

Gametraders Perth, Carillon & Carousel Celebrate Force Unleashed Launch

2:30PM Logan Booker | Reader Raze35 writes in to inform us that the above GT stores will be hosting a midnight launch party for LucasArts’ The Force Unleashed at the Reading Cinema in Belmont on Sept 16. The festivities will commence at 9:30PM, and cut off at 1AM. Along with the opportunity to purchase the game at 12 on the dot, attendees can engage in speed runs of the demo (current record is 2:30 minutes, apparently) or don their best Star Wars gear and enjoy a bit of cosplay. Prizes will be there in, uh, force as well. If it sounds like your bag (or other container), you know where to be! More »

GO3 2008: A Reader’s Report

2:00PM Logan Booker | August 1-3 saw GO3 land at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre. According to the official (and rather flashy) website, GO3 is all about the “latest in technology, communication, electronic games, in-car technology, communication, education & training [and] home audio”. Sadly, Perth isn’t the most accessible place in the world and, as such, the event remains a mystery to me. Not to worry, as reader Theodore suggests this is probably a good thing. In fact, he was kind enough to offer his reporting services to document the event, even though it turned out to be rather unexciting. If you’d like to have a read and view some photos, just hit the jump. As an aside, if you’re in a position to attend an event or see something super-special or gaming related and would like to write about it, let me know! More »

Perth GameTraders Is a Game Goldmine

1:30PM Logan Booker | That’s what tipster Steve had to say when he sent us in this shot of his copy of Lost Odyssey which he picked up on January 27. Thing is, it’s not due out here until the 8th. Steve was kicked into action when he saw a similar post regarding Devil May Cry 4 this morning. Yes, it’s an overseas copy, but Steve points out that the language selections come in English, Chinese and Japanese and the game itself runs fine on PAL Xbox 360s. Apparently the store is expecting Advance Wars: Days of Ruin for DS, which isn’t out until next month. Update: Looks like EB Games has broken the street date for Lost Odyssey today, according to a post at Neogamer. Apparently the game did not come with a “do not sell” order. (Thanks Luke P.) More »

Why Wait? Grab Devil May Cry 4 Now

10:30AM Logan Booker | According to Activision, Devil May Cry 4 will be out in Australia on the 7th for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Of course if you live in Perth, near the GameTraders on Hay St, you can pick it up today. Tipster Daniel sent in the above shot of what we can only assume is him holding his PS3 copy. Chances are it’ll be out in a few other places, but Perthians definitely have the advantage right now. [Thanks Daniel!] More »
