It’s gonna be a hell of a weekend. While my body adjusts to Pacific Daylight Time—curse you Japan Time!—I’m sure to have bouts of insomnia. I suppose I could complain, but I’m sure it will afford me the opportunity to squeeze in some gaming while the better half is zonked out. I only picked up a handful of things while in Japan—Parodius Portable and Sega Ages: Space Harrier Collection—but I’m fully caught up in Jeanne D’Arc and, of course, Picross DS. Plus I have Tokyo Bananas to eat!
Console time sounds unlikely, despite my wishes to wrap up Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, but exciting new developments may be brewing in that regard. Could my second HDMI port finally find a mate in an Xbox 360 Elite? Maybe! Since I’ll be checking the comments on the post around 4 AM my time as my body goes “WTF?”, I’d love to know what you’re playing this weekend. More »
Some of you will have weekends rich with BioShock or Madden, but I’ll be sticking to handheld systems for not only this weekend, but for the next fortnight. Tomorrow, I fly to Leipzig for next week’s Games Convention and GC Developers Conference, meaning I’ll be in the air or at an airport for just about 15 hours. That means I’ll be wracking my brain with Picross DS, revisiting Advance Wars: Dual Strike, and probably picking up something new for the Nintendo DS or PSP. Too bad Level 5′s Jeanne d’Arc releases next week, while I’m in Germany. Any other suggestions?
And while you’re in the comments, providing sage portable gaming advice, answer me this: what are you playing this weekend? More »
Nintendo of Korea is localising a trio of games into Hangul: Elite Beat Agents, Picross DS, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. NoK is handling the translating duties, so it looks like the games will get proper releases. (Good news for Koreans traditionally neglected by Nintendo!) What is intriguing is the Elite Beat Agents release. Will it have Korean popstars like BoA or Rain or will it stick with the Sum 41 and the Ashlee Simpson? I sure hope not. For Korea’s sake. Yesterday and today saw this Kotaku associate editor playing a trio of this fall’s bigger hits, including the one I’m able to chat about, Activision’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Combat. This weekend I think I’ll be sticking to older fare, as my recent purchase of Beyond Oasis for the Sega Genesis means I’ll finally get my hands on this action-RPG classic. For what I’m playing beyond Beyond Oasis, I expect that Picross DS will consume to soak up most of my free time. It’s all rather dull isn’t it? Your input is far more exciting.
So, let’s have it. What are you playing this weekend? To the comments with you! More »
I’m going to keep this one brief (yet again). I’m also going to rub a little something in the Kotaku collective face, as I will be playing StarCraft II this weekend—and lots of it. That’s ’cause I’m at BlizzCon, right now, pounding convention centre floor, covering the Con for Kotaku. If it’s any consolation, I’m running on four hours sleep. Upon my return from the Anaheim Convention Centre, the only games I’ll be playing are Ninja Gaiden Sigma (almost… there…) and Picross DS.
Anyway, what are you playing this weekend?
