Sony Exec To Testify Before Congress On PlayStation Breach

During the PlayStation Network outage, Sony was asked to appear before a U.S. House of Representatives committee to explain the situation. The company declined, sending an eight-page letter instead. Now it will go before Congress, when the president of Sony Network Entertainment visits a Tuesday hearing to answer questions.

Maker Of PSN Game Worries About PlayStation Store’s Viability

SOE Fully Online; Account Holders May Claim 45 Days Of Free Time

Sony Online Entertainment this afternoon sent password reset emails to its account holders, notifying them that all SOE services are back online and that they may claim 45 days of free playing time for any game they had activated on their Station Account before the massive cyber attack of late April took SOE’s servers offline.

The PlayStation Network Returns; Normalcy Won’t

Across North America yesterday evening, PlayStation Network returned after a 23-day total blackout. In a process spanning about seven hours, the PlayStation 3′s online capabilities gradually returned state-by-state, beginning in New York and ending in Texas. As gamers rushed to message boards to verify the good news in their precincts, the news had the feel of an election night, one whose results were cheered and celebrated by all.
