Rare Genesis Cartridge Gets Private Reproduction Run

Blockbuster’s second Video Game Championship contest, for SNES and Genesis, ran nationwide in 1995. Stores had to destroy the cartridges after the contest. Someone made 100 reproductions to help completionists fill a gap in their collections. About 40 are left.

Collector’s Item Obliterates Record For Rare Game Sale

There is a Holy Grail of Rare Video Games, and it is Stadium Events. The auction on a factory-sealed NTSC version closed just minutes ago, and it was sold for $US41,300, almost double the old record.

Mum Sells Old NES And 5 Games – For $US13,105

A mum in North Carolina listed an NES and five carts on eBay last week for $US9.99. Final winning bid: $US13,105. One of the games in the lot happened to be the ultra-rare Stadium Events, in its original box.
