According to an anonymous poster on the popular but perennially sketchy 4chan board, Metal Gear Solid series director Hideo Kojima visited the offices of Infinity Ward today. Why? "To learn" about first-person shooters, allegedly.

Left 4 Dead Teases Tenth Team Fortress 2 Class

Posted by Michael McWhertor at 11:40 AM on November 15, 2008

Eagle-eyed Kotaku reader Srider spied something interesting during his playthrough of the Left 4 Dead demo, amusingly enough on the back of an in-game box of "Chocobites" cereal. Seen in the first apartment in the game's first campaign — and wherever cereal is eaten in Left 4 Dead — the back of the box promises a free six-inch Team Fortress 2 action figure. The catch? It teases us to "collect all 10!"

Rumor: Sega Channels The Conduit To Wii

Posted by Michael McWhertor at 6:40 AM on October 29, 2008

At last check, High Voltage Software's sharp-looking Wii game The Conduit was homeless, without a publisher to give it a snazzy marketing campaign and necessary distribution. Fortunately, thanks to an eagle-eyed NeoGAFer, it appears that Sega may have picked up the Wii MotionPlus-ready sci-fi shooter, with The Conduit appearing briefly on the Sega of America press FTP earlier today. It was rather quickly deleted, but not before screen grabs captured the moment for posterity.

Pirated NTSC GTA IV Leaked Online Early

Posted by Luke Plunkett at 5:30 PM on April 24, 2008

48 hours? You're not giving yourselves enough credit. Less than a day after the PAL copy of the game was leaked, NTSC copies of Grand Theft Auto IV have begun popping up on torrent sites, courtesy of a group calling themselves 101. We're still unable to verify whether this is the real thing or not, but regardless, the files are already pushing 20,000 leechers. Shame. We're still waiting on Rockstar for comment.

GTA IV Gets Its First Taste Of Console Nitpicking

Posted by Mark Wilson at 5:15 AM on April 19, 2008

According to a 1UP writer posting on NeoGAF, the PlayStation 3 version of Grand Theft Auto IV will require a 5-minute install before playing. He adds that the PS3 version also features optional SIXAXIS control for the helicopter, boat and motorcycle which he proclaims as "pretty good." But while we'd like to get our hopes up over steering our hog through Liberty City, when has a SIXAXIS control scheme ever been "pretty good" enough to actually use for more than 2-3 minutes at a time? That's not to say our interest isn't piqued, but we take our precision boat jacking and bitch slapping very seriously around these parts. We have absolutely no margin for error.

PAL WiiWare Launching In May As Well?

Posted by Luke Plunkett at 4:00 PM on March 21, 2008

Maybe. Nintendo Europe & Australia are still keeping mum on the subject of an official launch date for WiiWare across the PAL regions, but take a look at this Wii Shop Channel update notification I just received on my Australian Wii. Says the WiiWare service is planned for May 2008. We know it's not the same message as was sent to US owners, since it only said "Spring", so PAL Land, do you dare to hope?
