Since its introduction two weeks ago in Saints Row: The Third, the game’s four-foot long dildo bat — nom de guerre: “The Penetrator” — has killed more than two million citizens of Steelport, publisher THQ said in announcing a stat-tracking capability that charts all the mayhem taking place in the open-world crime game.
I’ve noticed over the years that I enjoy playing games in pairs, coupling them like a fine wine and a dry, aged cheese. (Or a hoppy beer and a slice of spicy pizza, if you prefer.) I’ve got professional obligations now that I didn’t have in the past, but all the same, I find that I tend to experience my gaming two games at a time.
Kanye West’s “Power” plays a central, recurring role in Volition’s new open-world crime game Saints Row: The Third. The tune has been featured in the game’s exhaustive promotional materials, plays regularly on its in-game radio stations, and makes bookending appearances in the single-player campaign. This week, I’ve been sharing a few short videos to give a sense of what Saints Row: The Third is all about. We’ve seen a chaotic way to start your day, how to customise your radio stations, and how fun the character creator is, especially with The Zombie Option. For the last video of the week, I wanted to show something a little different.
This week, I’ve been sharing some videos of Volition’s new (tremendously fun) open-world crime game Saints Row: The Third. On Monday, we saw how I start each day in Steelport, and yesterday I showed a cool refinement of its custom radio stations.
Sony has announced that new purchasers of the PS3 version of Saints Row: The Third (or anyone with an online pass) will get a free digital copy of Saints Row 2 and all of its DLC. The offer will last for 90 days, or until February 13, 2012.
Yesterday, I showed you a video of how I begin my day in Saints Row: The Third. I called said it was emblematic of the game–one sequence that sums up the total experience. Saints Row: The Third is full of such moments. Many of them involve skydiving, or tigers.
In pro wrestling, a chair shot is when you hit someone with a metal folding chair, usually in the head area. You’ll see one of those in the Saints Row the Third clip, along with all manner of open-world madness. Since it’s out today, you can get your gangstafied crazy on right now.
If you’d like a free insane costume for the Heavy in Team Fortress 2, you have about two days to pick it up. It also helps if you want Saints Row :The Third on PC, as that’s what you have to preorder to grab it.
