This drum throne arrived on my doorstep this morning.
Namco Bandai’s pre Tokyo Game Show press conference may have been a little light on the news, but at least they handed out some classy goodies to departing journalists, if only to wake them back up before their trip back to assorted hotels.
The schwag of Penny Arcade Expo includes an eclectic mix of PAX-themed giveaways and buyables. My favourite among the offerings though are these three PAX-wrapped consoles.
A blue, black and grey PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 will go to the winner and runner-up of this year’s Omegathon, with the winner also landing themselves a trip to the Tokyo Game Show.
If you’re hitting the show and not one of the lucky few selected to compete in the Omegathon you can still get your hands on some PAX-themed goodies.
Ubisoft handed out packs of these four Raving Rabbids at this year’s Ubidays. I’m not a huge schwag fan myself, but these managed to melt even my cold heart. And yes, we’re sorry Ubisoft, turns out Sam Fischer did make an appearance at your show.
It is! Even says so, right there. Reader Ricardo just got hold of these classy GTA IV license plates from Rockstar, which are real plates, to scale, so he can mount them on the automobile/trailer/scooter of his choice. They’re even customised…so long as your name’s Niko, that is. Not much good if your name’s Ricardo. Or anything but Niko.
Handed out to speakers at this year’s Game Developers Conference was a cool little pack of playing cards featuring the face, name and title of some of the industries top players.
While the deck’s box says that placement of photos was random (except conference higher-ups Jamil Moledina and Meggan Scavio who are the deck’s Jokers), IGDA executive director Jason Della Rocca did manage to land on the Ace of Clubs card. I actually wish they had made the face cards be all “GDC All Stars.” Hit the jump for shots of all of the playing cards.
Pursuit Force Extreme Justice hits tomorrow. What I played of the demo I quite liked, which is surprising because I hated the original game. My early copy, which arrived at my door today, came with this Pimp Glass, sunglasses and fingerless gloves. Hold on there guys, you’re mixing your seventies references and it’s about to blow my mind. Either throw in a pimp stick and robe or make with the fake Magnum stache.
Or we would, had Kotaku Heavy Industries been attending the game’s Japanese launch party instead of alternatively stuffing our faces with turkey or rocking out on Rock Band. See, not only did Yasuhiro Wada turn up for some free drinks and a go on the final build of the game, but all attendees were given a parting gift. Toilet schwag.
