On any given day I reckon I could make a strong argument for the original Shadow Complex being my favourite XBLA game ever. Maybe. So to hear Donald Mustard from Chair Entertainment reassure us all that a sequel is very much in the works and being thought about. Apparently it’s about finding the “right opportunity.”
I’ve noticed over the years that I enjoy playing games in pairs, coupling them like a fine wine and a dry, aged cheese. (Or a hoppy beer and a slice of spicy pizza, if you prefer.) I’ve got professional obligations now that I didn’t have in the past, but all the same, I find that I tend to experience my gaming two games at a time.
I frickin’ loved Super Metroid. Which means, by extension, that I loved Shadow Complex. Ever since Chair released that game on Xbox LIVE Arcade, I’ve been hoping for more content – a sequel, anything. Now, in an interview with Eurogamer, Chair Entertainment’s Donald Mustard has claimed that more Shadow complex “isn’t a question of if, it’s a question of when”. You can’t see me now, but at this moment I’m clapping vigorously.
There’s quite the sale going on over on Xbox Live Arcade at the moment. Six of the very best games around – Limbo, Shadow Complex, Castle Crashers, Trials HD and Monday Night Combat – are going for half price. Normally, they’re 1200 MSP. For today, April 15, they’re only 600 MSP.
