Hard Reset Is A Sexy Cyberpunk Shooter That Took Me By Surprise

It’s OK if you’ve never heard of Hard Reset, the new singleplayer cyberpunk first-person shooter coming next month from Polish developer Flying Wild Hog. Up until a couple of weeks ago, no one had. It happens. It just doesn’t happen often with a game this good being released this soon.

Tribes: Ascend Revisits The Series’ Glory Days

I first played Starsiege: Tribes at the 1998 E3 Expo in Atlanta, Georgia. A relatively newcomer to the multiplayer first-person shooter, I fondly recall ignoring whatever objective our team was supplied with, instead spending my time whooshing about the map with my jetpack, giggling to myself.

If It’s A PC Exclusive With No Multiplayer, You Better Believe Hard Reset’s Trailer Is All About Gameplay

The Polish super-team building the cyberpunk FPS Hard Reset must think it’s 1996 or something. The game is a PC exclusive, has no multiplayer, and although it was announced last month, it’s coming out later this year. That’s how things used to get done around here.

Gaming’s Favourite Camera Angle

Misinformed people used to complain about the preponderance of video game sequels. They saw video game titles that ended with a number as markers of creative drought. The excellence of Grand Theft Auto III, Super Mario 64, Halo 3, Burnout 3, Call of Duty IV, Mass Effect 2, Assassin’s Creed 2 and so many other sequels was a waterfall of inexplicable exceptions.

Artist Wants To Make A Life-Size Replica Of Counter-Strike’s ‘Dust’ For Us To Play In

Aram Bartholl has a habit of bringing the most recognisable things from our virtual worlds into reality. He created the first-person shooter glasses. He installed replicas of Need for Speed Underground 2‘s flashing neon arrows and Counter-Strike‘s crates in public spaces. Now he wants to construct one of the world’s most played multiplayer maps, “de_dust” in the real world—at actual size.

Infamous Real-Life Mercenaries To Star In Blackwater, The Video Game

Blackwater Worldwide, the real-life mercenary team linked to the killing of civilians and noncombatants in Iraq during US operations there, will be the subject of a Kinect-supported video game coming to the Xbox 360 later this year.
