Remember when hack-and-slash title Sengoku Musou 3 (Samurai Warriors 3) came out on the Wii in 2009?
This reminds me a little of that bit Billy Crystal used to do about getting old, when his teenage daughter asks, “Dad, is it true Paul McCartney was in another band before Wings?”
Slash, you can own! McFarlane Toys has announced it is releasing a Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Slash figurine. The vitals: The statue is 6 inches tall, has over 15 moveable parts, a removable guitar and a sculpted stand. Toy Slash is priced somewhere between US$10 and $15. Out next February.
Guns And Roses guitarist and top-hat lover Slash wasn’t kidding when he said that gaming had endless possibilities. The aging rocker is teaming up with long-time friend and Australia’s Next Top Model stylist Jonathan Pease to work on a video game centered around fashion and styling. According to The Daily Telegraph, Pease is heading off to Los Angeles to launch the new venture with his Guitar Hero friend, so odds are good that we’ll hear something about this new title at E3 next week.
Never mind the drugs and booze, rocker Slash thinks games make folks lazy! According to Slash, games do “promote this sort of lethargy in kids.” But does that mean he’s against video games? Not at all! According to the guitarist:
A lot of people have been asking ‘Is this [gaming]the new wave of how people are going to be exposed to music?’ I though that was sort of like a joke question when I first heard it, but I’m starting to realise that, given the current state of the music business, it might be. Because the kids are into it, and the possibilities are endless in terms of what you can expose them to through this medium.
Rock, Slash, Rock.
