At least, that’s what this whiteboard discovered in the Blizzard office must surely mean. Surely?

Like us, IGN Australia were invited to Blizzard’s HQ recently to check out StarCraft II. Like us, they took a camera and snapped some pics of that same HQ.

Among the dozens of amusingly-captioned photos in their resulting feature were these two glimpses of a super-secret whiteboard where Blizzard designers brainstorm their next game ideas.

Or, possibly, just doodle whatever nonsense they feel like.

Sony’s confirmed that we’ll be getting the Metal Gear themed expansion for LittleBigPlanet on December 24. Along with a bunch of costumes and a level kit, Media Molecule is also adding a new item – the Paintinator (pictured above) – which lets you “Shoot switches and enemies, or create completely new challenges for other players to test their shooting skills!”

Turkish Solid Snake Equips Cardboard Box, Sneaks Out Of Prison

A Turkish prisoner in a west German jail — well, he used to be in a west German jail — has employed some Solid Snake-style tactical espionage escape action, hiding in a box that was supposed to be shipping stationery supplies and delivered by an express courier. According to the BBC, the 42-year old man jumped from the truck that carried him and his box off prison grounds, escaping through a cut in the truck’s outer tarp.

The driver of the truck noticed the truck’s tarp flapping in the wind, at which point a giant exclamation point appeared over his head. He then alerted authorities.

“We have no idea where the fugitive is hiding,” prison warden Beate Peters told the BBC. “We assume that he is still in the county and is lying low before making his move.” Authorities are listening carefully for knocking on walls.

You decide! Gameplayer believes there’s more than a passing resemblance. It even went to the effort of doing one of those frame-by-frame morph things in Photoshop.

Where is this Snake look-a-like from? Let’s read the post:

I have a brother and he got married recently, so I was at the wedding and there were lots of family members about, some of which I had not seen for years. One man in particular caught my attention. An uncle of mine that had aged considerably since I last saw him – maybe more than ten years prior. I looked at him and thought “I recognise that face and not just as the face of my aged uncle”. Then it dawned on me and I found myself thinking “Snake……. Solid Snake?……Snake….What happened…………. Snake………… SSNNNAAAAAKE!”

I doubt Kojima went to the effort of travelling to Australia to find the perfect look for Old Snake – I imagine elderly men with mean moustaches are a dime a dozen in Japan. If anything, this guy’s uncle is probably a closet Metal Gear Solid 4 fan.

On another note – I wonder if David Hayter can do an Aussie accent…

You’d think with the raw sexuality that Solid Snake oozes in every episode of Metal Gear that he’d be swatting away the ladies with baseball bat or, at the very least, tranquilising them and moving their unconscious bodies to less conspicuous locations. It’s not like he hasn’t come across his share of foxes who could use some post-traumatic stress relief. Sure, there may not be a lot of time for love on the battlefield, but according to the philosopher Pat Benatar, love is a battlefield. Given that, we’d think Snake’s romantic adventures would be a natural spin off for the series.

Kotaku reader Michal’s comic, however, might help explain why Snake strikes out with the women of Metal Gear Solid in a spin on this theory about Old Snake’s shortcomings. I guess, technically, it’s NSFW, so proceed with caution.

Sorry, Old Snake. That’s a tough hand you’ve been dealt.

Does Solid Snake Have… A Solid Snake?

The United States is gearing up to elect a new president, gasoline prices are skyrocking, environmentalists are predicting doom for our planet, and on the internet the debate rages on – does Solid Snake haev a penis? Binary Fractal has posted a long, rather crude essay explaining why he believes this clone of Big Boss was born without junk, citing photographic evidence, particular storylines, and Snake’s relationship problems along the way. For example:

At the end of MGS Naomi was offering free strip searches to Snake (literally) and when she finally has him in front of her, naked, she starts crying like a bitch. Keep in mind that Naomi is the biggest whore in the MG universe and there’s nothing that makes a whore cry more than having a man show up with no penis in her house.

My thoughts? He can’t reproduce, he’s dying prematurely, and the one girl he had the hots for doesn’t have a grandpa complex. Damn guys, leave the poor man his penis.

Man, Solid Snake sure looks manly. You know, because he’s a man’s man! According to tipster Peter, who sent us this shot, it’s the figurine from the European Metal Gear Solid 4 limited edition box. I’m no expert, but I’d say that’s exactly what it looks like. Heck, he even comes with a cute little knife for chopping onions and bad guys.
