So, obviously, we wanted to give them away. Let’s find out who the two lucky winners are.

We asked you to write a limerick beginning with “There once was a Sackboy…” You can read all 341 entries here and here. But only two can win.

This is them:

Brent Harrison
There was a sackboy named Michael,
who thought banning games was delightful,
Until one day,
Voters sent him away,
By electing his political rival.

Ryan Stalgis
There once was a sackgirl named Rose
Who picked a loose thread from her nose
She soon felt dim-witted
For since she was knitted
She unraveled right down to her toes!

Congratulations guys, I’ll be in touch later today to arrange delivery of your prize.

We’ve got two LittleBigPlanet PSP bundles to give away. But only if you can make us laugh.

UPDATE: This competition is now closed. The second winner will be announced 11am Monday.

LittleBigPlanet on PSP is an entirely new Sackboy adventure with an Australiana themed area just one of more than 35 original levels. And just like on PS3, you can create your own levels and share them online with the PSP community.

Thanks to our friends at Sony Computer Entertainment Australia, we have two prize packs up for grabs, both including:

* A turqiose Slim & Lite PSP
* A copy of LittleBigPlanet on UMD
* A Sackboy screenwipe
* And a Sackboy PSP pouch

How do you win? It’s limerick time again. You have to write a LittleBigPlanet themed limerick that begins “There once was a Sackboy…” (Remember: limericks have fives lines; lines 1, 2 & 5 should rhyme, and lines 3 & 4 should rhyme.)

Good luck!

NOTE: As with all Kotaku comps, only one entry per draw is allowed. If you leave multiple entries, only the first one will be considered.

And the first winner is… Brent Harrison, who submitted not just the first but the best classification-themed limerick:

There was a sackboy named Michael,
who thought banning games was delightful,
Until one day,
Voters sent him away,
By electing his political rival.

Remember, leave your limerick here to go into the second draw. Entries close at midnight Sunday.

Those 33 million users download a staggering 25 petabytes of data a month. More importantly for Sony, they’re also spending three times what they did last year at the PlayStation Store.

Sony’s presentation highlights what it called a significant revenue in downloadable games and add-ons. The company also pointed out that its video delivery service now has more than 2417 movies and 15,047 television episodes.

A final point made in the slide presentation by Sony about the PlayStation Network is that a new revenue stream is coming from a subscription model.

Reached for contact this morning, SCEA told Kotaku that in terms of the PlayStation Network and subscriptions “we’re looking into a variety of options, but nothing to announce at this time”.

Today the company further details these plans, leveraging the PSN infrastructure to create an online service for all Sony hardware.

The PlayStation Network has been a big hit with PlayStation 3 and PSP owners, and now Sony wants to bring the same experience to other areas of hardware, including televisions, MP3 players, ebook readers and laptops. According to a Sony presentation delivered this morning, the same infrastructure that is used to deliver video and games to the PlayStation and PSP will be used to deliver games, video, music and ebooks to other Sony devices. Consumers would connect to the Sony Online Service using a single user ID, meaning that most likely your PlayStation Network ID would also be your Sony Online Service ID as well.

The network would also be used for devices like digital cameras, allowing users to share their photos and videos directly with the PlayStation 3, PSP or newer Sony televisions without requiring the use of a computer or memory card.

A unified service would further strengthen Sony as a brand, while giving users a unified interface familiar across all products. If they pull it off, it should be a real boon to the company, with hardware users knowing exactly what to expect when they purchase a Sony product.

The news supports previous reports on Sony’s 3D PlayStation 3 strategy, suggesting that a firmware upgrade would introduce the capability to existing consoles. Not only does Sony plan on upgrading the console to support 3D, but release games in 3D as well in order to take advantage of the enhanced capabilities.

Of course, 3D games and 3D televisions would go hand-in-hand, so adding the capability to the PlayStation 3 would definitely help drive at least a few television sales.

Would you purchase a new television to support 3D gaming, or is Sony seeing things?

“Our work is already bearing fruit,” Howard said, according to the Associated Press. “We still have more work to do.”

After its second year of losses in the current fiscal year, which ends March 2010, Stringer said that Sony’s target is to turnaround their game business and have it be profitable by March 2011.

The company plans to use a two-prong strategy to achieve that goal. Sony believes they can improve profitability through cost reduction, becoming more efficient internally and getting internal divisions to work better together.

Sony also sees a growth in hardware, software and network services pushing sales up in the gaming division.

Stringer says that Sony’s PlayStation 3 has five key advantages: The incorporation of a Blu-ray player, the Playstation Network, PSP linkage, upcoming 3D games and their recently announced motion controller.

The Motion control, he said, uses the PlayStation Eye camera, can track depth, position and motion by “sphere, gyro and acceleration sensors” and vibration feedback and “rendition by light”.

Some on the Japanese internet are suggesting that the reason for the delay is that cute cartoon characters have four figures — “four” is the equivalent of “13″ in Japanese, a highly unlucky number that can reference death. Also, when yakuza chop off fingers to apologise for mistakes, they are left with four digits.

However, Mickey Mouse has four fingers in Japan, so not sure if I entirely buy that reason. However, the cover art for Left4Dead ran into censorship issues in Japan regarding missing fingers…

The release date for Fat Princess in Japan is TBA.

Our man Pedro tells us that with a nine-year-old console only just launching, there obviously isn’t an official PS3 presence, though he says Sony do sell some older PS3 games. For R$199 ($125).

As announced yesterday, Sony’s latest firmware update for the PlayStation Portable — bringing us to 6.20 — is now out, bringing some stuff we can use now and some stuff we can use later.

Stuff we can use now: The PSP now supports playlists for video and photos, and you can transfer existing ones over from your PC or PS3 to your handheld.

Stuff we can use later: The Digital Comics reader will now be added to your XMB, but it’s completely useless until December, when the actual PSN comic store opens.

The only dates Sony could offer up were “December” for the US, and “mid-December” for the UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Ireland.

We’ve got two LittleBigPlanet PSP bundles to give away. But only if you can make us laugh.

* A turqiose Slim & Lite PSP
* A copy of LittleBigPlanet on UMD
* A Sackboy screenwipe

There’ll be two draws, one for today and Friday and a second one for the weekend. You’ve got until midnight tomorrow to get your entry in for the first draw. Then stay tuned for the opening of the second draw at 10am Saturday, where we’ll also announce the first winner. Got that?

Good luck!

NOTE: As with all Kotaku comps, only one entry per draw is allowed. If you leave multiple entries, only the first one will be considered.
