Sound Shapes has been out for a couple of weeks now, and I think it’s finally time I wrote something about it here on Kotaku Melodic. It’s been a bit tough to get the average gamer interested in the game for some reason, even though it’s one of the most clever, musical games I’ve played all year. (And that’s taking into account that 2012 has been a real barn-burner for clever, musical games.)

Have a look — and a listen — to some new music from Beck that is being used to structure levels in next month’s PS Vita and PlayStation 3 game Sound Shapes. Notice how the lyrics are incorporated into the level. What’s a little harder to grasp is that, as you control the little guy in this platforming game, you are collecting little icons that add aural elements to the music that’s playing, building the song at the pace you play.
