Speaking of Red Ant, the distributor has just penned a deal to handle Zenimax Europe’s workload here in Australia. According to the release, Red Ant will start off with Star Trek: Conquest, due March 20 on the Wii and Playstation 2, and AMF Bowling: Pinbusters for the Wii on March 27.
It’s safe to assume Zenimax’s European operation is eager to filthy up its publishing mitts, considering the business was announced only three days ago.
I’ve been told there’s a press release after the jump, but it’d be best if you checked for me. More »
I was left unsatisfied by Star Trek: Legacy, but I’m willing to give Bethesda another chance with Conquest. The mixture of MechCommander-style arcade action with turn-based strategy could be just the ticket. As to where this ticket will take us is yet to be determined. More »
Bethesda today confirmed that Star Trek: Conquest is coming to both the Playstation 2 and the Wii this holiday. The Wii version will support the use of both the remote and the nunchuk, but appears to be hand phaser free.
The game will let you take control of Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Cardassian, Dominion, and Breen forces and lead them in a campaign to control the Galaxy in a turn-based strategy game that uses the Wii remote to select and manoeuvre your ships. Once in battle you can control your ships in real time with the nunchuk and remote. However, there appears to be no first-person shooter element.
Dashed! Hopes of hopping around in front of my television in skin tight pants and an open-necked shirt while trying to both talk up sexy green aliens and blasting bad guys with my remote are dashed. I’ll be in the corner crying if anyone needs me.
