There’s a fair amount of buzz surrounding the upcoming sci-fi/western mash-up from LightBox Interactive. You’ll finally get to see what all the hollering’s about when Starhawk‘s public beta goes live on January 18th.
I finally got around to playing Starhawk‘s beta, and while I am terrible at the game I do enjoy it a lot. During the beta you play 8v8 matches of Capture the Flag on two different maps. Constructing different buildings allows access to everything from Starhawks (a transforming mech/fighter jet suit) to anti-air turrets that help you defend your base.
The private beta for Starhawk, the spiritual descendant of 2007′s downloadable hit Warhawk will commence on Tuesday, says Sony Computer Entertainment America. The beta will be “slow-rolled,” so those who don’t get an invitation on day one, don’t give up hope; one may be on the way soon.
The sequel to the PlayStation 3 third-person shooter Warhawk looks quite nifty, even provoking our own Brian Crecente to use the word “awesomer”.
I was a big fan of multiplayer-only third-person shooter and vehicle combat game Warhawk. It had a goofy, endearing art style. It had some wonderful, huge maps and of course it had those awesome hover-to-jet Warhawks.
