Street Fighter IV Booth Punches The Competition In The Face

Posted by Luke Plunkett at 9:30 AM on October 12, 2008

Man, Capcom are pulling out all the stops with their booths this year. We've already shown you the Gyakuten Kenji setup, but equally amazing is the company's Street Fighter IV booth, which is a replica of Chun-Li's stage. It's even got a chicken. Great stuff.

The Official Street Fighter IV Pins of TGS

Posted by Brian Crecente at 10:30 PM on October 11, 2008

After playing a round of Street Fighter IV in the Capcom booth at TGS08 the booth companions hand you a little packet of Street Fighter IV pins. I tried figuring out what the full set consisted of, but the time spent at the booth rooting through their freebie basket only netted me more eye time with the same two sets of pins.

First Hands-on With Street Fighter IV's Sakura

Posted by Brian Crecente at 1:30 PM on October 11, 2008

I finally got a chance to check out Street Fighter IV on the Xbox 360 today. More importantly, though, I got to the booth early enough to play a match as both Akuma and Sakura.

A New Street Fighter IV Trailer Has A Little Bit of Everything

Posted by Adam Barenblat at 4:00 AM on October 11, 2008

Face it, TGS is like a huge magnet when it comes to attracting great trailers. So when it came time for Street Fighter IV to take the stage it was no surprise that the trailer wasn't anything less than awesome. There's all sort of eye candy in this one from gameplay footage to the brush art sequences we've come to know and love. Or maybe you're into Street Fighter anime, no problem it's got that too. So don't feel bad if you want to stick around for repeated viewings.

Here Are Your New Street Fighter IV Screens

Posted by Adam Barenblat at 1:40 PM on October 10, 2008

Where there's a will, there's certainly a way to play Street Fighter IV. Some lucky folks may be able to find an arcade around their area. You can head over to Japan like Crecente and crew and get beaten by someone who probably hasn't left the arcade since the game came out. Or you can spend thousands of dollars and rig up a Taito Type X2 to your TV. However, for us in North America, our options at this point are at best, limited. So while we wait anxiously for our console release next year, enjoy these screens after the break.

Japanese Schoolgirl Sakura Joins Street Fighter IV Fight!

Posted by Brian Ashcraft at 5:30 AM on October 9, 2008

The latest issue of Famitsu announces that Japanese schoolgirl Sakura Kasugano will be making an appearance in multi-plat home console version of Street Fighter IV. While she's made it into the game, Capcom is still apparently "undecided" whether Cammy will be in SFIV or not. Yeah, right.

Suck it Down: Street Fighter IV Makes Kotaku its Bitch

Posted by Brian Crecente at 8:00 PM on October 7, 2008

At our second arcade we finally found some Street Fighter IV machines squeezed into the smoke-filled fourth floor. The machines, which cost 50 yen a play and were packed into old boxes, were system linked with one another. Ash and Mike took one look at the players and bee-lined it for the Shmups one floor up. But Luke and I, apparently gluttons for punishment, decided to line up and take our punishment, fortunately it was over quickly. (More so for Luke, ha ha ha)

Yup, Gouken's in the game. You have to unlock him, but he's in the game. Below, some new screens of the old man in action, giving Ryu not only a taste of the back of his hand, but a taste of his...inky leg as well. Ewww.

So What Happened Between Street Fighter II And Street Fighter IV?

Posted by Luke Plunkett at 7:30 PM on September 29, 2008

You'd think "Street Fighter III", but you're so wrong. Here's what's happened. In slick, anime form. No idea what's being said by the voice-over guy, so go ahead and use your imagination (THIS SUMMER...), but there's some kicking and punching towards the end that speaks a more universal language.

Street Fighter IV tournament at GoodGames Sydney

Australian Post Posted by Seamus Byrne at 4:20 PM on September 29, 2008

No not the TV show, but GoodGames Sydney (Level 1, 857 George St (door upstairs is next to KFC)) is calling on all those who think they're ready to throw down at Street Fighter IV to hit the store this Friday for a tournament. They're pretty sure their regulars are the best players in Sydney, so if you think you've got game why not drop by and see if you can take their resident elites? All the details can be found right here where the intercity trash talk is in full effect. The essentials: 7.30pm, Friday 3rd October. $10 entry, $8 online. Winner takes the pot minus costs. Full rules breakdown after the jump. So which character do you think will win the tournament?
