Microsoft has announced the winners of the 2008 Xbox Live Arcade Awards, with The Behemoth’s Castle Crashers walking away with Game of the Year.
Capcom’s VP of Business Development and Strategic Planning, Christian Svensson, says the company is far from done making high def Remixes of its old-school games.
Were you one of the lucky folks to get their hands on a SSFIITHDR Press Kit? No? Well get ready to pony up!
Capcom reveals that Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is well on its way to becoming the highest grossing digital title of all time, with 250,000 units purchased since the game’s release.
Continuing the Street Fighter being unleashed by Capcom over the next few months is a special Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix themed Uno deck for the wildly popular Xbox Live Uno game. The deck adds Sagat’s stage from the game as the backdrop, places Street Fighter characters on the cards with animated moves on special cards, and adds a whole new card to the mix – the Hadoken card. When someone plays Hadoken, they choose a player. That player must draw cards until they pick up a block or jump card.
Okay, so we know when, now tell us how much.
It looks like the New Xbox Experience will be going live tomorrow with its first… Wii Channel?
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is coming…sometime soon, and Capcom has released a teaser video showing off some of the combo moves you can pull off in the rebuilt version of the classic fighter. To some of you, these moves will be very familiar. To a Street Fighter player as skill as I am not, these are the sort of moves I only ever pull off on accident. The key lies in making it look as if you did it on purpose. I find that shouting the word “Face!” seems to help.
I was excited for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix back when it was first announced in April 2007. HD remakes of classic 2-D games always make me smile. A year and a half later, though, the game is still not released. And with Street Fighter IV just around the corner, I was beginning to find it hard to stay excited. Thankfully, I finally got a chance to see the near-final game (it exists!), and chatted to Capcom’s Seth Killian about its release date, pricing, and how much better the online experience is.
Capcom assures us that Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, the game they’ve been teasing us with since last year, is heading our way soon via Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network. While they don’t have a concrete date as of yet, they are close enough that they’ve decided to celebrate with shots showing off three new World Warriors, Cammy, Blanka, and Zangief. I choose to top the post with my favourite of the three. Pretty in pink, isn’t she? Hit the gallery for more shots along with actually screens of the characters in action.
