After watching the last Syndicate trailer, I had to grudgingly admit that it did indeed channel some of the vibe of the original game. In this new video, Syndicate executive producer Ben O’Donnell walks us through the just-released 4-player co-op demo, detailing some of the features of the upcoming game’s co-op modes.
I’ll go ahead and call this a glimmer of hope. When we first got a glimpse of the FPS reboot of the PC strategy classic Syndicate, I was dispirited. The original Syndicate was a isometric strategy game with a cold, still-iconic art style and a generally groovy vibe.
The single best piece of video game news today is that the original Syndicate is now on sale over on Good Old Games for $US6. You’ll get more fun out of that game than you will most games costing 10x as much.

Most likely you are already well aware that Syndicate has been refused classification in Australia but this new trailer, which showcases the game’s co-op amongst other things, hardly reveals anything to suggest the game is more violent than any other shooter on the market.
Yesterday Syndicate was refused classification as a result of “repeated and realistic post mortem damage which exceeds strong in playing impact”. Now EA has issued a statement in response.
