See? They’re marching, relentlessly, on their way across his shoulders to hunt, then kill, his face. Cute, but for the first few mornings looking in the mirror, probably also a little terrifying.

Lord knows we encourage enough tatting around here, but like the mafia, we don’t deliberately go for the face.

Of course, this is on the side of her head, and this person probably wasn’t looking for a high powered career in sales or games PR. Actually, it sounds like this tattoo was an impulse buy:

Head tattoos are THE SHIT!!!!!! LOL. So I was workin yesterday and we decided to tattoo me cause well, it was slow.. A few ideas were thrown around and Ms Pacman WON!! So now I am the proud owner of an ultra geeky head tattoo!!!! Not sure if life gets any better, hahahahahaha////////////

Well, we did ask.

Our heavily inked readers have sent in a plethora of pictures detailing the game-related tattoos with which they have adorned themselves.

As expected, they run the gamut from impressive to slightly baffling.

Magnet Genocide wears Chun Li on his arm, Rob Thrift has matching mega man and heat man, Melissa Stiltner sent us her impressive Master Sword back piece – she has Okami piece on the way.

Nick Purdy sent us pics of his girlfriend Robyn’s Super Mario Galaxy star, Sebastian Zethraeus wears a foxy MGS 4 insignia, An anonymous reader has the Sith code in UV ink.

Zack Thar sent his pal Davis Peng’s tattoo of Yoshi, Joey Crundwell wears Starman Deluxe from EarthBound, Greg Doom has Gutsman, Elecman, Megaman, and Bullet Bill on his leg, Dustin Kurtz has Bioshock-inspired wrist chains and Cale Bradbury is forever maked with a Weighted Companion Cube.

Finally, Suicide Ninja keeps it in the family with his tat of Lulu from Final Fantasy X. His Daughter has Rikku from FFX2.

Show Us Your Tats

Two more readers have decided to permanently mark their bodies to show how much they love gaming (and wearing sleeves for job interviews).

The first — Jim Osterhout — had his Fallout tat done back in 2005. A stylish, almost calligraphic, Vault Boy in black ink with yellow and red highlights (and a bonus penguin). Jim informs us that he has taken to telling non-gamers that it is a picture of him.

Secondly, Adam Zweig sent pics of his impressive, full-colour sleeve tattoo featuring “Sonic, Shy-Guys, Paper Mario, Poe, Ghoul, Nel from Star Ocean, C&C Renegade Dead 6 Logo”. Bet that hurt.

Weirdly, both pics arrived in my inbox within ten minutes of one another. Is this what it is like being Warren Ellis? Are you lot going to start sending in Polaroids of your video-game-themed genital modifications now?

Tattoos: Area Man Hoping Fallout 3 WIll Be Critical Success

You are doing it wrong! You are supposed to wait until AFTER a game is lauded as a bona fide classic before you get its iconography indelibly etched into your flesh.

Sure, Fallout 3 is looking good and all signs point to it being a decent game.. but you have know that somewhere there is a sheepish body art fan walking around hiding his Too Human inkage under a heavy wool shirt.

Reader David Lo sent in some snaps of what we assume is his actual arm, now forever marked with a colourful rendition of Vault Boy cheerily gibbing someone with a handgun.

It is nice work, but.. well, we hope it works out for you, mate.

The Peter Moore Challenge

EA Sports head Peter Moore is not a man to mince words. That’s why we loved him so when he was at Microsoft, he cuts through the BS and gets straight to the point.

In a recent post on his blog over at It’s In The Game, Moore talked up his new studio alluding that EA Sports is primed to have one of the best years in its history. In particular Moore sings the praises of NASCAR, NBA LIVE, Madden and NCAA Football. He’s so sure that this season is going to be unrivaled, in fact, that he’s promising to get a new tattoo if they don’t deliver.

Big talk Moore, but lets put a little reality into this pie-in-the-sky promise. Why not say that if you don’t have an overall Metacritic increase (yes I hate review scores) on all four of those games you’ve failed to deliver and it’s time to ink up? We’ve even found this swell logo for your possible future use. Let us know.

Kotaku reader and Philadelphian “daeeatsall” is not what you might call a “casual” fan of Metal Gear. This pair of Metal Gear Solid 3-inspired tattoos that have effectively eliminated him from the regular workforce are a testament to that, with a “Zombie” facepainted Snake on his right and an Eva on his left. We’ll just sit back and admire tattoo artist Bird’s work on his hands, keeping our opinions to ourselves. We’d hate for any misconstrued words to be misinterpreted and to be on the receiving end of those meaty fists. Yikes!

Yeah, you love Sonic, OK? We all do. But there’s a point where you can love Sonic too much. Enjoying Sonic making out with human chicks, for example, is enjoying Sonic too much. As is walking into a tattoo parlour, sitting down, saying “cover the arm with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and a Sega logo, will you?” and thinking it’s a good idea.
