So Many id Games! So Few Dollars! Valve just dropped word that this weekend, not only can you get a quintet of X-COM titles on the cheap through Steam, the “id Super Pack“, which is normally $US 70, will be going half-price. That means Quake, Quake II, Quake III, Final Doom, Doom III, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and much, much, much more for just $US 35. That’s less than the price of a cup of coffee every day for a month! Maybe. Zounds!

Zafehouse.com Is Open For Business: Zafehouse hasn’t done too bad, considering its meagre beginnings. I’ve decided I’ll update it with bug fixes and new features occasionally, and these things demanded an official home. There’s a new version up, which includes support for an online scoreboard. Give it a whirl! More »

Thanks, Guys – In July, we posted about Zak Touilii, a disabled Australian teenager whose PS3 and games – donated by the Make A Wish foundation – had been stolen by thieves who broke into his home. Was a bastardly act. One which has in turn generated a very un-bastardly response: we’ve heard a bunch of Kotaku commenters got together, raised some money and presented Zak with a cheque for $US 425. Which should go a long way towards restocking Zak’s games library (Sony Aus having already replaced his PS3). To those of you who kicked in, thanks.

Madden KFC Update

Everyone:

Leave Kotaku Football Conference. The new league with a more reasonable schedule is KFC Kotaku Football.

If you joined the first league, email me at owenATkotakuDOTcom with the subject header Changing Leagues and your gamertag so I can send you the password for the new league.

And to EA: You could have done much, much better with the documentation on creating this league and what your choices mean. I’m sure I’m not the only one who thought 11 meant an 11 game season, plus playoffs.

Little Big Planet on the PC? Bwah? Reader Jacob writes: “Got these display boxes in at work for Little Big Planet on the PC, How Very Queer!!!” Pretty sure this is nothing more than a screw-up (not on Jacob’s part, mind you!) and rather certain we’ll only be seeing it on the PS3, but yeah, LBP on the PC would be pretty neat. That is, if you own a PC and are excited about LittleBigPlanet. If not, then oh well.
