Vivendi Gives Bourne Back To Ludlum
3:40AM Mike Fahey | As a part of Activision’s continuing offloading of Sierra properties, Ludlum Entertainment has required the rights to create games based off of the works of Robert Ludlum. These include the Bourne series and Covert One, both of which excited Crecente to no end when Vivendi first announced them back in 2005. Now three years and one measly game later the ball is back in Ludlum’s court. “Our colleagues at Vivendi Games did a tremendous job of capturing the spirit and allure of Robert Ludlum’s writing with The Bourne Conspiracy and the gaming community’s strong response is clear indication that future Ludlum games will deliver both popularity and profitability for years to come”, commented Jeffrey Weiner, CEO of Ludlum Entertainment. Weiner went on to say that the company looked forward to working with other partners in the future. Ludlum estate reacquires Bourne game rights from Vivendi [GamesIndustry.biz] More »
Bourne Demo On Xbox Live
12:20AM Mike Fahey | This morning Xbox 360 owners get their first shot at truly being Bourne. Robert Ludlum’s The Bourne Conspiracy gets the demo treatment this morning on Microsoft’s platform, bringing the fast-paced, close quarters combat of the movie trilogy to the smaller, more interactive screen. Be sure to check out Flynn’s eyes-on impressions from last month to help you decide whether or not you want to commit 1.24GB of your precious hard drive space to High Moon’s take on the spy game, 100% Matt Damon free. 12:00AM Flynn De Marco | I’m sure by now most of you are familiar with the genius cell phone PR stunt that Sierra threw together for the upcoming Bourne Conspiracy game. While it was cool, the real question is, how was the game? I met with some of the developers from High Moon Studios to check out the game being played and get some explanation of was all about. The Bourne Conspiracy is somewhat an amalgamation of the three Bourne films although the books are used as reference pretty heavily. You’ll find no Matt Damon character models here! They really wanted to make this as entrenched in the Bourne lore as possible and as such there is very little gunplay involved. You must rely on your McGuyver like wits to help you make your way through the game, using the things you can find around you and your trusty fists to their greatest use. 5:40AM Mark Wilson | While we’ve heard quite a bit about Sierra’s The Bourne Conspiracy, we haven’t gotten much of a taste of the straight gameplay. So here’s a big, ice cold scoop for your enjoyment. Hight Moon Studios obviously put a lot of time into capturing the quick cuts of the Bourne films. And while it looks like the effect will work, but we’d have to play it to find out. Otherwise, it’s actually reminding us quite a bit of Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. You know, on a subway and stuff. Bourne Conspiracy Collector’s Edition Priced and Dated for Australia
10:30AM Logan Booker | Vivendi sends word that both the standard and Collector’s Edition of The Bourne Conspiracy will be available in our fair country from June 5. The images here are the final pack shots for the Xbox 360 and PS3 CEs.
So, what can you expect from the CEs? Not much, actually. Along with the game, you’ll get a copy of the latest instalment of the Bourne movie series, The Bourne Ultimatum on DVD. Which when you take into consideration the $109.95 price tag, is an alright deal.
Okay, how about a semi-decent deal? A bad deal? I’ll let you decide.
Of course, you can always go with the standard version, priced at $99.95. More »

The Bourne Conspiracy Hits US in June
3:00AM Brian Crecente | Robert Ludlum’s The Bourne Conspiracy ships in North America on June 3 for the Xbox 360 and PS3, Sierra announced today. “We’re creating a video game that is distinctly Bourne, based on a deconstruction of the character from action hero to game hero, and one that we ultimately believe gamers will discover as a distinctively original licensed action game,” said Emmanuel Valdez, chief creative officer, High Moon Studios and game director on The Bourne Conspiracy. I’m still totally confused about how this game missed not just the first movie, but all three of them. Why not release the game in the middle of the Bourne hype not after it’s all died down? So odd. Hit the jump for the full release. More »
Sierra Debuts Oakenfold’s Bourne Soundtrack Live
1:40AM Mike Fahey | Sierra and Yahoo! are teaming up to present the debut of the original soundtrack for their upcoming The Bourne Conspiracy game tomorrow at Winter Music Conference 2008 in Miami, Florida. World-renowned trance DJ and producer Paul Oakenfold will be performing the soundtrack live in concert at Miami’s Mansion club, along with members of the Florida Classical Symphony and a special appearance by hip hop artist Cee-Lo. “It was a rewarding experience to score The Bourne Conspiracy video game — I have always been a fan of the series and the pace of the game is an ideal match for my musical tempo and style,” said Paul Oakenfold. “I look forward to premiering the soundtrack during “The Bourne Sessions” at WMC.” Yahoo! will be airing the event live tomorrow night at both Yahoo! Live and Sierra’s own http://www.bournesessions.com/. As a big fan of Oakenfold’s work, I will feel really bad on Wednesday when I realised I completely forgot about this. More »
