Namco’s pop idol simulator THE iDOLM@STER originally started out as an arcade game, but has expanded to manga, anime and, of course, home console and portable video games.

For many Japanese fans, it is important that voice actresses are as cute as the characters they portray.

Takahashi has done loads of anime voice work as well as lending her vocal talents to fighting game BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, voicing Litchi Faye Ling, and pop idol simulator THE iDOLM@STER, voicing Azusa Miura.

She’s also lending her other talents to Sabra (think Maxim for Japan). The 32-year-old voice actress has even claimed to be 23 years old in the mag.

Earlier week the second entry in the Nendorid iDOLM@STER line went on sale earlier this week with a single set priced at ¥6,000. Here, someone bought 29 sets for a grand total of ¥174,000 (US$1,842).

Maybe this individual is planning on selling them off if they somehow appreciate in value. Or maybe, just maybe, he or she is going to leave them stacked and just stare.

The discovery of this mode turns the PSP game into a make-shift version of adult PC erotic title 3D Custom Girl (not work safe), which lets players do pretty much whatever they like to their custom girl — which usually involves yoga of some sort. Though, we don’t remember these positions from our yoga class. Maybe they teach them in the advanced levels.

Hey, that’s not to say Namco Bandai’s franchise THE iDOLM@STER isn’t creepy, Home’s version of iDOLM@STER character Haruka Amami is just, well, creepier.

To bring everyone up to speed: Namco’s THE iDOLM@STER is a popstar simulator. It was originally an arcade game, but has since appeared on the Xbox 360 and the PSP.

As part of Home’s Rewards System, reward items from Japanese PSP title THE iDOLM@STER SP are being distributed via Home. Check out Home’s take on Haruka Amami and shudder.

Next January, a pornography parody of Namco’s pop idol sim THE iDOLM@STER was slated for release. The flick’s distributor TMA has announced that the adult movie will no longer go on sale.

Dubbed Adultmaster, it follows three women as they try to break in as “idols” and do other stuff. Like dance. And sing. The producers and cast of the film were hardly coy and teased the saucy send-up. Adult video actress Rui Saotome blogged: “Today, we filmed the adult version of an idol training game… I can’t say the name of the game, but maybe there are lots of people who know what it is.”

However, the adult video producers have suddenly decided not to release the finished film. According to TMA’s website:

On January 16, 2009, our company’s title Adultmaster was scheduled for release. However, the launch has been halted for various reasons.

We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused. We are truly sorry. TMA

Various reasons? Sounds so varied. It’s possible that the game was a little too close to the source material for Namco Bandai’s liking. If this is the case, perhaps Namco’s lawyers were a little too threatening for TMA’s liking.

One is The Adultmaster, a saucy send up of Namco Bandai’s iDOLM@STER franchise. It follows three women as they try to break in as “idols.” The costumes look great, and the dialogue is probably spectacular.

The other is a re-release of cosplay-theme video starring Kyoko Ayana, complete with “new mosaics.” This motion picture was originally released in 2004, a simpler time when women could dress up as Guilty Gear’s Bridget without confusing everyone. Just look at that yo-yo! Of course, this comes as visual novel CLANNAD gets a just released dirty parody of its own: CLONNAD.
