Chiaki Takahashi has lent her vocal talents to fighting game BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, voicing Litchi Faye Ling, and pop idol simulator THE iDOLM@STER voicing Azusa Miura. She has other talents to lend.

Besides appearing in Sabra (think Maxim for Japan), she’s also getting her own boob mouse pad. Once again, the 32-year-old is claiming to be 23. Lies!

Namco’s pop idol simulator THE iDOLM@STER originally started out as an arcade game, but has expanded to manga, anime and, of course, home console and portable video games.

In Japan, voice actresses aren’t just voice actresses. They’re voice actress idols. Take Chiaki Takahashi — she’s in a candy-coated pop band and poses for pin-up pics.

For many Japanese fans, it is important that voice actresses are as cute as the characters they portray.

Takahashi has done loads of anime voice work as well as lending her vocal talents to fighting game BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, voicing Litchi Faye Ling, and pop idol simulator THE iDOLM@STER, voicing Azusa Miura.

She’s also lending her other talents to Sabra (think Maxim for Japan). The 32-year-old voice actress has even claimed to be 23 years old in the mag.

There’s a video, too! We recommend only watching the first ten seconds or so — just to see her voice acting in action. We were too freaked out to finish the rest of it. Sorry!

Namco Bandai’s idol sim THE iDOLM@STER series lets players manage a group of young, female pop stars. Well, not all of them are female, it seems.

In DS title THE iDOLM@STER DearlyStars, 15 year-old Ryo Akizuki reveals that he is a she. A clip of the game has popped up online, and Ryo is worried about being seen. “They’ll find out I’m a male,” she, err he, says. She, dammit, he puts on make-up and stuffs bra pads in his, her, doh, his shirt.

So confusing!

What Do Gran Turismo And THE iDOLM@STER Both Have In Common?

They both have remote controlled cars, that’s what.

The above RC cars are connected to Namco’s pop singer franchise THE iDOLM@STER and already on Japanese store shelves. They’re both priced at US$49. They’re in boxes. Use your imagination. Sorry!

The third car was spotted by Italian site Hobby Media at the Nuremberg Toy Fair. It’s a limited edition RC replica of the Polyphony Digital Ford Gran Turismo. Polphony Digital, of course, is the developer behind the popular Gran Turismo series.

This 200mm high grade remote controlled car is based on the E10 Ford GT LM racer and is produced by HPI Racing and based on the . Worldwide, only five thousand pieces will be produced. It is expected to be out this Spring. More details here.

In Japan, next February sees three more titles to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 budget Platinum Collection line. They are:

For those of you who might’ve wondered just how popular Namco Bandai’s idol simulation title THE iDOLM@STER is, there’s this: THE iDOLM@STER Visa card. Originally an arcade game, iDOLM@STER follows a music producer who oversees up-and-coming popstars. The franchise has since spread to the Xbox 360 and the PSP. There are an anime series and toys, too. What better way to buy an iM@S Haruka Amami than with this Visa card. Buying other stuff, maybe not so great. Slightly embarrassing, even.

iDOLM@STER For PSP Announced

Until now, nerds who wanted to play Namco’s pop idol sim THE iDOLM@STER had two choices: Play the arcade versions or play the Xbox 360 versions. But not every owns an Xbox 360 in Japan. (Shocking, we know.) Good news! There’s a new option as Namco Bandai is releasing the game on the PSP. Dubbed THE iDOLM@STER SP, this one player game almost looks like a port of the arcade version with PSP-tweaked graphics. There is a new “mail check” system where players have to check the idol’s email from magazine writers, stylists and fans. Since Namco Bandai won’t be able to make a killing on DLC like it has with the Xbox 360, the company is releasing three versions of the game with three characters spliced into each one. Maximum profits! The three versions (with characters) are:

THE iDOLM@STER Perfect Sun
• Haruka Amami
• Yayoi Takatsuki
• Makoto Kikuchi

THE iDOLM@STER Wondering Star
• Yukiho Hagiwara
• Iori Minase
• Ami and Mami Futami

Though, people who buy at launch this winter are mostly likely going to buy all three. But, if you are going to buy only one version, buy the Wondering Star one, ’cause you’ll get four characters. That’s added value, people.
