Massive Sims 3 Q&A Tells All
1:40AM Mike Fahey | Do you have questions about The Sims 3? Well EA has just unleashed a massive amount of answers in the form a a 30-question Q&A document that covers everything from the new character personality system to what kind of parties your sims can participate in. Of course the big question on all major fans of the series is whether or not The Sims 2 expansion they spent hundreds of dollars on would be hitting the trash bin. You might be needing a bigger bin. There are so many innovations in The Sims 3 so it’s really not possible to transfer items or Sims from previous games. The level of detail in The Sims 3 is so high that any conversion from older games would not be satisfying for players. Oh well. On the plus side, the average The Sims 2 player probably won’t have the system on hand to run The Sims 3, so you can at least futz about with the old game while awaiting your PC upgrade. Hit the jump for the full Q&A, translated from Simlish for your convenience. More »Katy Perry’s Simlish ‘Hot & Cold’ Music Vid

IKEA Bringing “Home Stuff” To The Sims 2
7:20AM Leigh Alexander | IKEA, bastion of furniture with unpronounceable names that you assemble sloppily and inaccurately in the comfort of your own home, is now spreading its empire into The Sims‘ world. Electronic Arts announced that through a partnership with the retailer, Sims 2 players will be able to decorate their bedrooms, living rooms and home offices with IKEA furniture and decor with The Sims 2 IKEA Home Stuff, going for $US 19.99 in North America and €14.99 in Europe. EKTORP sofas, EXPEDIT TV units, LEKSVIK coffee tables and VÄNNA mirrors are just a few of the tongue-twisters players will be able to jazz up Sims’ homes with. You can also get a VIKKA HYTTAN table, a KILA lamp, or a HELMER drawer. Buy the sofa, then for a couple years you’re satisfied that no matter what goes wrong, at least you’ve got your sofa issue handled. Then the right set of dishes. Then the perfect bed. The drapes. The rug. Then you’re trapped in your lovely nest, and the things you used to own… now they own you. ..Full release follows the jump. More »
