TimeShift 360 Gets Untimely Free Map Pack

Posted by Mike Fahey at 3:20 AM on May 10, 2008

Sierra Entertainment is looking to give TimeShift players a boost today as they announce the availability of the Futures-Past Multiplayer Map Pack on Xbox Live today. The pack contains five new maps playable in any of the games myriad multiplayer modes, from the mundane deathmatch to the relatively entertaining King of Time mode. The pack will cost you absolutely nothing to download, as Sierra is most likely desperately trying to drum up interest for the game, a solid title that had the misfortune of being delayed to the point where they had to release it between Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4, effectively ensuring that the multiplayer audience for the title would be far too busy doing other, more important things. It's ironic how horribly time has treated TimeShift. I'm just glad they didn't release this map pack within weeks of another blockbuster game with amazing multiplayer was released. Oh wait.

TimeShift Out Now For Playstation 3

Australian Post Posted by Logan Booker at 11:49 AM on December 6, 2007

timeshift.jpgThe lovely chaps at Sierra have just sent word that Saber Entertainment's TimeShift for Playstation 3 is now available at retailers throughout the country. For PC and Xbox 360 owners, the news is a bit old hat, but that doesn't mean you can't give a celebratory shout-out to users of Sony's next-gen console.

If the time-travelling antics and solid FPS action sound like good things to you, scrounge up $99.95 and head to your local games store.

TimeShift Coming To PS3 December 6

Australian Post Posted by Logan Booker at 3:10 PM on November 26, 2007

timeshift.jpgSaber Entertainment's TimeShift turned out to be better than the critics expected. True, Valve has nothing to worry about and neither does Infinity Ward, but the temporal mechanics of pausing and reversing time energised my flux capacitor (what, you don't have one)?

Sierra sends word today that the fourth dimension-bending FPS will be coming to Sony's Playstation 3 console on December 6. That's an Australian date folks, so if you're Xbox 360 and PC deprived, and this title has had you polishing your DeLorean several times a day, it can be yours in a week's time. And it comes free with a $99.95 price tag!

Release after the jump.

TimeShift Multiplayer Demo Tomorrow

Posted by Mike Fahey at 2:20 AM on November 14, 2007

timeshiftmpd.jpgTomorrow Xbox 360 owners will get a chance to experience TimeShift's unique multiplayer experience without the hassle of actually having to go out and buy TimeShift. Sierra has announced that a multiplayer demo of their time-twisting title will be up on Xbox Live tomorrow.

I've tooled around a bit with TimeShift's multiplayer, though I have to say I was less than impressed. The gameplay is certainly solid, but with the much more robust multiplayer of Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 readily available it just couldn't keep my interest. Had they released the game a year ago it would have been awesome, but TimeShift just had ironically bad timing. Don't take my word for it though - download the demo tomorrow and see for yourself.

TimeShift Hits the Present

Australian Post Posted by Logan Booker at 10:30 AM on November 1, 2007

timeshiftbox.jpgWord is from Sierra's HQ in Oz that TimeShift is now available for purchase from your favourite games retailer, or, if you feel like roughing someone up, a retailer you despise.

TimeShift has had a particularly tumultuous development cycle. While it stayed firmly in the hands of Will Rock creator Saber Entertainment, it switched publishers late last year from Atari to Sierra. Sierra wasn't happy with the state of the game, and it was pushed back to this year.

Would the game have been fine had it been released when Atari still had it? We'll never know. What we do know is that it's out now, and Sierra's happy enough with it to fire it off into the wild lands of Consumerdom.

Press release after the jump.

UPDATE: RRPs in the house: $99.95 for 360 and PS3 (when it's out), and $69.95 for PC.

TimeShift Demo On Live Marketplace

Posted by Mike Fahey at 10:30 AM on August 31, 2007

timeshiftdemo.jpgMy internet connection is hating me right now. Not only am I downloading the Tekken 5 online add-on on my PS3, now I've got my Xbox 360 downloading the 581mb TimeShift demo I just read about over at Larry Hryb's blog. I had TimeShift preordered before the Xbox 360 came out nearly two years ago, so it will be fun to finally get my hands on a playable version of the title so I can see if I need to go back to my old GameStop and get my fiver back or not. If the old GameStop is even still there. It has been awhile.

PlayStation Store Update: ....Is This Thing On?

Posted by Michael McWhertor at 10:40 AM on August 17, 2007

dirt_demo_ps3.jpgThe PlayStation Store has finally been updated for this Thursday's refresh, bringing a slew of new content to PLAYSTATION 3 owners. Demos for EA's NCAA Football 08 (728 MB) and Codemasters DiRT (553 MB) are up now and ready to download. New game videos include the new animated episode and a second "making of" clip for Ninja Theory's Heavenly Sword, as well as new trailers for Folklore and Timeshift.

New movie trailers for Pixar's WALL-E, The Brothers of Solomon and The Lives of Others join new PS3 wallpapers for Blast Factor: Advanced Research and, again, Heavenly Sword. This update is so solid it makes me want to do our secret, multi-step handshake—you know, the one that ends with us doing a little hip bump and double finger gun snap-point at eachother?

TimeShift Has A Release Date

Posted by Luke Plunkett at 11:20 PM on August 9, 2007

timeshift.jpgNo lying, this is the real deal. TimeShift, which was originally due for release in 1896 (read: 2005) and has been through 117 platforms (read: 5), might just be on the brink of completion. Sierra have announced that the 360 and PC versions of the game will be out on October 30, with the PS3 version due along in December. Take this news with a grain or two of the finest salt, of course (hey, it's TimeShift), but if you're feeling as optimistic as I am today they might just be telling the truth! Might be. No promises, though.
