Boy, upcoming PS3 game Tokyo Jungle looks like a riot. And this commercial is a riot too.
Last weekend, Sony kicked off a promotional tour for the June 7 release of Tokyo Jungle at Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara. While the event consisted of little more than a spokesperson and two demo stations, I was able to spend almost a half hour with Sony’s newest big name PS3 title. The demo consisted of eight stages, each a tutorial for a given aspect of the game.
It may be too early to anoint any one game as a cult favourite of 2012 but Tokyo Jungle definitely looks like it’s in the running, based on its box art alone. The video above looks like it’s showing co-op gameplay, with what appears to be a hyena and a chimpanzee foraging through the game’s post-apocalyptic, human-free Tokyo.
OK, yes. It’s only April. I know. But damn, the boxart for the upcoming Tokyo Jungle is glorious.
In Tokyo Jungle, animals try to survive and procreate in Japan’s capital. The game has an array of animals (from dogs to dinosaurs), funny outfits, decaying urban sprawl, and apparently panda sex — or rather, panda mounting each other to have panda sex.
As the release date for game developer Crispy’s Tokyo Jungle approaches, more details of the game have been released. The latest info is survival points and a costume feature.
It doesn’t matter if newly revealed PlayStation Network Tokyo Jungle is the worst game ever. It has a monkey in overalls. That’s all it needs!
