My time with Trials Evolution got me thinking a lot about human perfectibility. It’s essentially the principle that no matter how good a person is at something, given enough will and effort, there’s still ostensibly room for them to get even better. That idea seems to be one that developer RedLynx banks on with. “Yeah, you did great that time,” the Trials games smirk, “but bet you can’t shave off two more seconds off that time…” And so back you go.
Here at Kotaku Australia, we have a bit of a storied relationship with Trials HD, and if pushed I’d say it may be my favourite XBLA game of all time, so I thought it might be worth mentioning that today is Trials Evolution day! Today the game is being released on LIVE, and we have this launch trailer to show for it.
It was nine months ago when I posted the original Trials HD story, attempting to increase awareness and seek an answer to the Trials HD Riddle. This was a worldwide exclusive for Kotaku Australia and, by all accounts, was a popular story. While this was the first many of you had heard of the riddle and its clues, the committed members of the Redlynx forums had already been attempting to answer this riddle for nearly two years. Now, in the lead up to the release of Trials Evolution (April 18th), Redlynx have today revealed the ANSWER to the Riddle and it can be found within this video.
A few months ago I posted an article that introduced many of you to the Trials HD riddle and provided a follow up once a few more clues had been unravelled. The most overwhelming aspect of this was the response I received from the readers of this site.
Ubisoft has announced that it has acquired RedLynx, the creator of Xbox LIVE hit Trials HD. According to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft were attracted to the strength of the RedLynx brand.
It’s been a little over a month since I posted this article detailing the Trials HD riddle and what an amazing month it has been. The article received such a huge response and there was so much interest in the topic I thought I’d do a follow up just to let you know how we are progressing.
