The Two Worlds II Game Of The Year Edition Is Beautiful

1:00AM July 16, 2011 | Mike Fahey

I’m not sure what’s more surprising, that somewhere a publication gave Two Worlds II a game of the year award, or the fact that yes, that is indeed velvet. More »

SouthPeak Scores $AU 13.57 Million In Funding, Plans More Two Worlds

5:20AM June 20, 2008 | Leigh Alexander

VentureBeat reports today that publisher SouthPeak (I was just there yesterday seeing Ninjatown) has picked up $AU 13.57 million in private investments. It’s worth pointing out, as Dean Takahashi does in his story on the financing, that rarely do console and PC video game publishers pick up venture capital – most VC dollars these days are going to more nouveau-media stuff like online games, social networks, virtual worlds and so-called “Web 2.0″.

Two Worlds Spills Tainted Blood On Xbox Live

4:40AM March 14, 2008 | Mike Fahey

SouthPeak’s epic RPG Two Worlds gets a little bit bigger today, as the company releases the first of two planned expansion packs onto Xbox Live. This pack, titled Tainted Blood, focuses on expanding the multiplayer gameplay of the game, adding four new maps to explore with friends, over 35 new quests, and a new PVP mode in which players vie for control of magical orbs of some sort.

“This pack of downloadable content is a fantastic expansion for players who love playing Two Worlds with friends and are ready for some new and exhilarating features,” said Melanie Mroz, CEO of SouthPeak Games. “Tainted Blood’s excellent new multiplayer mode is the key thing to note. The introduction of a completely new multiplayer mode lives up to our commitment to making sure Two Worlds is the best RPG experience we can create.”

I particularly love the line about it being the best game they can create. It might not be the best RPG, but it’s the best you’ll get from us! Tainted Blood is available for download now for 600 Microsoft points. More »

Two Worlds Expands

1:40AM November 29, 2007 | Mike Fahey

Despite the fact that everyone I’ve talked to who has spent any amount of time playing Xbox 360 and PC persistent-world RPG Two Worlds has utterly despised the game, the developers are still supporting it, announcing an add-on to be released in the first half of 2008. Two Worlds – The Temptation will feature new territories to explore, an enhanced combat system that includes active blocking, and an entirely new method of transportation – here’s hoping for horses you actually control. The release is relatively vague, and the website they provide in it only contains three wallpapers, so for now the expansion might as well be called Two Worlds – Three Wallpapers. We’ll keep you posted in case anything actually happens worth mentioning. More »

Australian Sales Charts

7:30PM September 13, 2007 | Luke Plunkett

Unlike our colonial forebears, Australian gamers have resisted the urge to drop BioShock from the #1 spot and have instead…kept it there. That’s the 360 version, the PC one’s long gone. Also busting into the top 10 is, surprisingly, Two Worlds, making this the first time two 360 games have been in the top 10 since, oh, a very long time ago.

1. BioShock (360) 2. The Sims 2: Bon Voyage 3. SingStar ’90s 4. Mario Party 8 5. Pokémon Diamond 6. New Super Mario Bros 7. Two Worlds 8. Pokémon Pearl 9. Ratatouille (PS2) 10. Boogie
