The PS Vita has been marketed as a PlayStation 3 in the palm of your hand. So how does one of the PS3′s flagship titles translate onto the small screen? Kotaku reader Ben Latimore took Uncharted: Golden Abyss for a spin. These are his thoughts.
Man, have any of you guys ever played Uncharted before stopping to wonder what it would look like if it was an 8-bit game released on the Game Boy? Yeah… me neither. But still, now that I’ve mentioned it, you totally want to see it, right? Guys… GUYS?
With the PS Vita now out in Japan, the Examiner got its hands on a list of PS Vita game and app download sizes from the country’s PSN Store. The sizes range from the extremely tiny — 14MB for Nico Nico — to the fairly hefty — 3.1GB for fighter BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend.
For a game that feels so Western both aesthetically and in terms of design, it feels strange that Uncharted: Golden Abyss is being released first in Japan. But that’s what happens when a piece of hardware is delayed in the rest of the world. That said, this awesome trailer, which features the Japanese voice overs, makes it almost worth the wait. I would never have gotten to hear what Japanese Nathan Drake sounds like otherwise!
This new trailer for the first portable Uncharted game, the PlayStation Vita’s Uncharted: Golden Abyss looks very nice. But the point of this one isn’t to ogle the graphics but to meet a new character, Marisa Chase, who joins Jason Dante as part of series hero Nathan Drake’s crew in the new adventure.

Sony uploaded a few videos today showing off some of the games from the newly detailed NGP lineup. In addition to three game-centric videos, there’s also a featurette about Sony’s history creating augmented reality games, which ends with a brief overview of the AR features for the NGP.
