No Unreal Tournament III Demo

10:00PM Brian Ashcraft | Epic doesn’t do demos. They do games. ‘Cause when you have a small staff, you don’t have time to focus on other things. You can only focus on the game. Epic bossman Mark Rein (above, touching something) lays it all out: What we told Microsoft last year — they wanted a demo for Gears of War and we said ‘you’ve got a choice — you can have the demo this year or the game this year’… We’re not a big huge company with the resources to do that, and all the time we’re testing that demo we’re not testing our full game, which we need to be doing constantly… We’ll have a PC demo for UT, [but] I don’t think we’ll have a PS3 demo before the game ships. Working With Microsoft Not Epic’s “Chief Priority” Now

6:30PM Brian Ashcraft | Epic honcho Mark Rein fired this flamebait: “We’ll compress some things. But you know, we may have fewer maps on the 360 version… Blu-Ray has definitely given us a lot of legroom.” That’s not all. He also said: “If you think down the road, well maybe the next UT beyond this one, on Blu-Ray disc, we might fill the whole damn disc with all the cool stuff the mod makers make.” Take THAT, Microsoft!! Today’s he back with some back peddling and side-stepping. What’s more, he’s disappointed. Over on the Epic Forums, Rein writes: I continue to be disappointed that folks on the internet treat any positive thing we say about one platform as some sort of critique of another platform.
