Neither of these accurately portray how I spent my Valentine’s Day, but then, I am rather odd. Just wait, you’ll see.

Capcom celebrates Valentine’s Day with a new trailer featuring Chun-Li, Cammy and Juri from Super Street Fighter IV, beating the living daylights out of each other.

I’d like to make it perfectly clear here that it was Capcom that presented this as a Valentine’s Day tie-in and not me. I personally don’t find women beating up other women that romantic, but I suppose it takes different strokes.

Along with the vid, Capcom’s got some lovely SSFIV Valentine’s Day cards over at the Unity blog, perfect for printing out and handing to your significant other in lieu of actual presents. They won’t mind that one bit.

Every once in a while we half-heartedly wonder when Postal III is going to come out. We haven’t seen much of the game, and Running With Scissors is supposed to have it out sometime this year. After a bit of wondering we go back to doing whatever more productive thing we were doing before that, forgetting all about the game, until they send us a press release like this.

He was originally created for POSTAL 2 and was intended as a spoof of seasonal ‘must have’ toys like Tickle Me Elmo. I can guarantee you that there is almost no situation in which this would be a good Valentine’s Day gift. I say almost, because hey, I’ve seen stranger things than a man or woman that really enjoys getting 8 inch tall plush ball sacks as testaments of love.

What does that mean?

While Halloween was appropriately Black World Tendency and Christmas was White World Tendency, Atlus is letting players decide whether their February 14 is black or white. Feeling gloomy? Vote black. Feeling loved? You know what, vote black anyway. We just had a Pure White world and I could stand to kill some Primeval Demons in my new game+ playthrough.

Gerbil Physics is a game all about physics… and gerbils. Going beyond the title, it’s a game about using tools to solve puzzles using adorable little rodents as building blocks. Blow them up, knock them over and smash them against things in order to get the job done. It’s as adorable as it is enthralling, and, as many Xbox Live Indie titles, doesn’t get half the recognition it deserves.

So Pencel takes a stab at marketing with this nifty little poster, which can be downloaded, printed, emailed and circulated, hopefully with a link where folks can queue up a demo version of the game for download on Xbox Live, such as this one.

For at least three days in that span (and maybe the whole week; they haven’t decided yet), Gears of War 2 will offer the following XP bonuses:

• Revives are double points in all game types

• Wingman is double normal XP (4x XP)

• Horde is double XP

I’d advise checking back at the Epic forum thread for final details on when it starts and ends, but it sounds like it’ll be quite the romantic experience.

Sure, Japan got them first, but here in North America we get the pink and blue Wii remotes on a day perfect for spreading love through pleasantly coloured video game accessories. The two new colours come packaged in Nintendo’s unique protective sleeve, which brings to mind intimate toys while also serving as a reminder about safe sex, while the bundled Wii Motion Plus accessory is perfect for reminding your loved one that just swinging it around randomly is only fun until someone loses an eye.

The announcement didn’t specifically mention price, but we can assume they’ll be in line with the current Wii remote/Motion Plus bundles at $US49.99, or $US54.99 at GameStop. Where’s the love, GameStop?

Sanrio Digital celebrates the season of love this Valentine’s Day weekend by opening up the servers of Hello Kitty Online for a public stress test with their four-day Happy Hearts event.

Players who have been desperately trying to login to Hello Kitty Online over the course of the past few months only to be frustrated by the Founder’s Club only access restrictions will get some relief this weekend, as Sanrio throws open the servers for a four-day Valentine’s Day celebration and stress test, starting on February 14th. Players will be able to participate in special Valentine’s Day quests while testing out the revamped user interface and new (and sorely needed) chat filter, which keeps Hello Kitty and her friends from being solicited by Hello Sexual Predators.
