Alright, so we all knew we were getting Kinect voice control for Xbox LIVE before the end of the year, but now we have a specific date and that date is December 6.
Invites sent out on Friday for a special Microsoft Australia event on October 26 boldly state that those who attend will “receive a gift enabling them to experience the promise of voice control”. No further details are provided, such as a date for regular folk to experience said promise, but I’m sure that will be forthcoming.

Kinect. As expected, it was a major focus of Microsoft’s E3 press conference this year. Mass Effect 3, Fable, Ghost Recon – Microsoft was attempting the hard sell: rendering a device designed for a broad market desirable to its uniquely core fanbase.

Kinect launched in Australia yesterday and, despite the fact that this delay had been announced previously, there was a certain twinge of disappointment in the fact that Kinect didn’t arrive with the same voice control functionality that consumers in the US and the UK received. We wanted to find out why – so we got in contact with Microsoft and asked.
Remember when we told you SingStar was being patched last week? We lied. It’s patched now though, with trophy support, voice control, and a newly redesigned SingStore eagerly awaiting your dulcet tones.
