As excitement builds over the next generation of consoles, one developer is not so enthused. Warren Spector, the man who has led the development of Deus Ex, Thief, Epic Mickey, and the upcoming Epic Mickey 2 says that a new round of consoles won’t solve the most common video game problems.
Junction Point-the development studio founded by legendary game designer Warren Spector and acquired by Disney-made 2010′s Epic Mickey all by themselves. That technologically ambitious and mostly pretty game came out exclusively on the Wii. But, now that Mickey and Oswald’s next outing will be a multiplatform affair, Junction Point’s getting some help.

Earlier this month at the Game Developers Choice Awards, Deus Ex and Epic Mickey designer received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the gaming. This Mega64 tribute to Spector featuring Epic’s Cliff Bleszinski aired during the program. I’m surprised they didn’t take the award back on the spot.
