Honestly, I’m at a loss. There’s no shortage of incomplete games gathering dust on my shelves — The Last Guy, Soulcalibur IV, Super Mario Galaxy (I know!) and Killer7 — things that I really should cross of the list. And I stupidly slept on the id Super Pack deal from last weekend. But I’m feeling unmotivated, probably due to LA’s overcast skies and the obligation to complete Viva Pinata: Trouble In Paradise. Any recommendations? I’ve got some cash burning a hole my in pocket.

Other than that, I’m setting my weekend to Take It Easy, factor ten. What are you playing this weekend?

Wait… it’s Friday? Indeed it is, dear reader, capping off a holiday shortened week full of asking oneself “Wait… it’s Wednesday?” and “Wait… it’s Thursday?” and being delighted to learn that it was a day later than one’s internal calendar. Or maybe that’s just me. Careless gaming is right around the corner, meaning I’ll be playing The Last Guy, Soulcalibur IV and maybe, just maybe, some Gals Panic. Oh, it’s going to be a sexy weekend, kids.

What about you? Participating in some SOCOM Confrontation beta action? X-COM on the cheap? It might not be a bad time to start clearing the backlog, you know. Holiday release insanity is but a mere month away. So what are you playing this weekend?

McWhertor is in Germany so I get custody of Lazy Sundays this weekend. As for what I’m playing, I got Bionic Commando: Rearmed and the Fable II: Pub Games on Thursday, and I’m thrilled with both. You know why else I like them? Means I get to game on a super quiet Xbox, which lately for me has sounded like a tuberculosis patient gargling pea gravel. And why is that interesting? This weekend should be full of “Oh shit!” moments, as Kotaku Towers West and Kotaku Annex Atlanta prep for the Leipzig Games Convention. We’re mostly caught up on our bookings, but I still need to score a train ticket from Frankfurt to Leipzig, as well as book my German vacation days. You won’t have this editor to kick around post Games Convention, as I’m taking my first vacation days of the year after the con. Speaking of, any Munich-based Kotaku readers with some local recommendations?

In my downtime (ha!), I’ll be relaxing with some Soulcalibur IV and pulling my hair out with some PixelJunk Eden. I’m surprised to find myself only halfway through my Spectra collection and completion. There’s little doubt that Q Games gives you plenty of value for your dollar.

Braid and Pixeljunk Eden over here, for both work and pleasure. I’m hoping to have reviews up for both early next week — yes, a bit late! — but also want to work my way through Braid, having played a pre-release version fairly extensively, until my roommate took over my game save. Eden’s the bigger challenge, as collecting all 50 Spectra in that game is taking much longer than I’d anticipated.

Outside of that, another of the McWhertor spawn is crashing at Kotaku Towers West this weekend, so we’ll be doing various LA things that are vegan friendly. And you? What will you be playing this weekend? Leave proof in the comments!

Last night was our monthly Geek Night in LA, held at Crosswayboy’s pad, giving us a double-double of video game indulgence. I believe the line up consisted of Geometry Wars 2, PixelJunk Eden, Wario Land: Shake It!, and Soulcalibur IV, which obviously equals good times. A bit unimpressed by the new Wario Land, partly because of the smooth jazzy soundtrack, and extremely annoyed by the addition of Yoda to SCIV’s roster.

This weekend, however, I’ll be throwing down with some more PixelJunk Eden, more Soulcalibur IV and maybe even a little bit of Braid on my own time. It’s time to take a break before we gear up for the Leipzig Games Convention. Anyway, whatchu playin’ this weekend?

We’ll still be at Comic-Con for a good portion of the weekend, so who knows what we’ll be playing? If we had our druthers, it’d be Ghostbusters: The Video Game, Prince of Persia, Deadly Creatures and Soulcalibur IV, all playable on the Con floor. Sunday, however, will be purely dedicated to shipping out dozens and dozens of packages, as Meat Bun orders get some serious attention. Yay!

We may even get in a real-life game of badminton, time permitting. But what about you, dear commenter? What are you playing this weekend?

Being surrounded by the latest and greatest future releases the video game industry has to offer might lead one to think that my thirst for gaming has been quenched. Not so. Despite having access to E3’s massive library of games, I experienced but a fraction of what was playable at the Los Angeles Convention Centre. Fortunately, I have a hard drive full of Xbox Live Arcade games to fill the void, including some stuff that, well, I’m not sure I’m allowed to mention. Suffice it to say, I’ll be playing something fun this weekend.

On top of that, we’ll be prepping for Comic Con. Anyone going?

I’ll also be heading out to the Street Fighter Fight Club event in LA tonight, spending a bit more time with Street Fighter IV (and whatever else is on hand). Your gaming plans for this weekend are…?

Play? Video games? Not this weekend, pal. There’s far too much to get done for E3, which for the Kotaku staff, starts Sunday afternoon. Some of us will be probably be playing our Game Boy Advances, DSs, PSPs and Neo Geo Pocket Colours en route to smoggy Los Angeles, California, but this editor is going to focus on leveling up his stress levels. Oh, sure I may get my Paladin up to level 50 in Diablo II to let off some steam, but beyond that… work, work, work, work, work!

Hopefully, some of you are planning on hitting up the Kotaku party on Sunday. Then we can talk about games. For now, let us know what your playing this weekend in the comments, and I’ll live vicariously through you. Maybe name your character after me in a sign of solidarity? No? Hey, I tried.

While wrangling coverage of Blizzard’s Worldwide Invitational will consume a portion of my weekend, spending more time hands-on with Silicon Knights’ Too Human will swallow up quite a bit more of my Saturday and Sunday. Expect extended impressions on that game throughout next week. To wind down, I’ll be devoting some personal time with Team Fortress 2, playing as one of the many Pyros clogging the ranks on the hunt for Steam Achievements and new weapons. Oh, and there’s Soul Bubbles to finish. Lordy!

Other than that, it’s time for serious Summer fun. We’ll be bandying about shuttlecocks and grilling lots of meat in the greater Los Angeles area, working on our third sunburn. What have you got planned for this regular sized weekend? Any gaming gettin’ done?
